Maybe things will change, but we sure run a lot of plays from the gun to believe a FB is going to have an impact.
It's kinda like the Grubb situation. They would talk about it but Grubb didn't seem capable of doing it. MM says this will allow them to run two FB sets. That makes sense it seems in terms of getting back to last seasons approach. Will it actually produce results
Why the fuck would you want two full backs on the field.
I would tell Sam - we need to see you run or we are going with Drew.
I know it's an unpopular opinion these days, but I don't yet see the problem as being Fleury. The call is getting in there.
Very few delay of game penalties that I can remember. I don't see a huge difference from last year in the play calling.
I think it's a cascade of fuckery from not having a good RB combo available, being one dimensional at WR.
And mostly, Sam shitting the bed. I think they will try a few things like get Sam out of the pocket more etc., which
might or might not work. Maybe get Barner more involved.

I think they have run 2 FBs before, but one is lined up as the H. It's a power run formation. Not really any different than using multiple TEs, but our TEs aren't really run blockers.

I believe that's how MM referred to it, two TEs, the guys they signed are FB/TE, basically its this Shanahan style offense that is popular these days that involves whats termed a lot of heavy packages. Both the Rams and 49ers run it, its what Kubiak installed last season and what hes running in Las Vegas. Its what was expected from Fleury with him coming from the 49ers. There was speculation he would utilize TEs and lots of motion. My impression is they are looking at adjusting the personnel in order to get it rolling.
Kyle Shanahan’s offense uses condensed, heavy formations (frequently featuring 21 personnel with a fullback like Kyle Juszczyk) to force defenses into heavier packages or predictable box counts.

Core Elements of Heavy Packages in the Shanahan Scheme

• 21 Personnel & Fullback Usage: Utilizing a fullback (such as Kyle Juszczyk) forces defenses to substitute a defensive back for a linebacker or add extra bodies to the box.
• Condensed Formations: Tightening the wide receivers and tight ends close to the offensive tackles (often fitting inside the numbers) creates natural leverage for outside-zone runs, split-flow action, and crack blocks.
• Deception and Motion: Heavy sets are paired with heavy pre-snap motion (moving fullbacks or running backs out to the slot/perimeter) to stress second-level defenders and uncover misdirection.
• Pre-Snap Packaged Plays: The offense often breaks the huddle with multiple play-calls packaged together, allowing the quarterback to check or "kill" into a pass or run based on how the heavy defensive front reacts.

there's been a pretty dramatic move away from shotgun formation around the league these days
NFL offenses are using the shotgun formation less frequently in the 2026 season as teams shift significantly back toward under-center snaps.
• 2026 Season Rate: The league-wide rate of plays from under center rose to 42.3% to 42.5% early in the season, meaning the shotgun rate sits around 57.5% to 57.7%.
• 2025 Season Rate: The under-center rate was 35% (shotgun rate around 65%).
• 2024 Season Rate: The under-center rate was 30.5% (shotgun rate around 69.5%).
• 2023 Season Rate (Nadir): The under-center rate dropped to a low of 28.6%, meaning shotgun peaked around 71.4% to 72.1%.

Najee Harris is available, the Seahawks had shown interest in him over the summer, had him in for a visit. Giants cut him two days after he questioned how he was being used at a presser.

Aurora vindicated...

people sure are dumping on officials these days
NFL's Breiden Fehoko is accusing the league of rigging games through its officials, claiming players knew it was happening and that the NFL threatened to take away his pension when he previously spoke out.
The former Chargers defensive lineman made the explosive allegations on X: “When I played in the NFL we all knew officials were rigging games certain ways. It happens at the college ranks.”
Fehoko then claimed the league attempted to silence him: “Last year when I put the NFL on blast about it they threatened to pull my pension. Fck em. The world deserves to know.”
His comments followed a controversial finish to the Notre Dame-BYU game, which sparked renewed outrage over officiating.
