Annual NFL Draft contest
Re: Annual NFL Draft contest
Seahawks will trade down, not once, but twice and gain valuable draft capital.
Position Group: OT
Defense is the name of the game, with some extra helpings of offensive beef.
Skill positions such as QB, RB and WR will be largely ignored except for TE by Seattle. The draft mantra goes something like, "Draft big, strong, mean, fast Hulks to kill theirs and draft huge, nasty, immovable Mountains to protect ours."
1.} Caleb Williams, QB
2.} Drake Maye, QB
3.} Joe Alt, OT
4.} Marvin Harrison, WR
5.} Jayden Daniels, QB
6.} Terrion Arnold, CB
7.} Olumuyiwa Fashanu, OT
8.} Dallas Turner, Edge
9.} Malik Nabers, WR
10} Brian Thomas Jr., WR
11} Johnny Newton, DT
12} Byron Murphy II, DT
13} Michael Penix Jr., QB
14} J.J. McCarthy, QB
15} Quinyon Mitchell, CB
Finally, my Seattle Seahawks pick, after trading down (2X) is DL/Edge Darius Robinson - Missouri - 6'5" \ 286 lbs.

Re: Annual NFL Draft contest
with the Hawks trading down you don't need a 16th pick so I deleted it.rockycola wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 6:33 amSeahawks will trade down, not once, but twice and gain valuable draft capital.

Re: Annual NFL Draft contest
The entire nation agrees on one thing...Duck fans suck!
Re: Annual NFL Draft contest
I actually asked the guy what he thought of Nix as a test to see if he was a duck fan. lol He wasn't so just a Caveman Brain calling Penix a game manager/point guard. He was obsessed that he didn't run enough as well.

Re: Annual NFL Draft contest
Slovis had the fastest forty time at the combine at 4.55. Penix ran a sub 4.6 at the Husky pro day. If someone could please explain to me the games we lost because Michael Penix didn't run the ball more I'll listen. There is a difference between not being able to run and not having to run.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 2:06 pmI actually asked the guy what he thought of Nix as a test to see if he was a duck fan. lol He wasn't so just a Caveman Brain calling Penix a game manager/point guard. It's about as dumb as the injury prone shit. Penix didn't miss a snap for injury in two years. The Ducks lost to the Huskies two years ago because Nix had to leave the game. I guess Nix is injury prone? There are reasons I have my doubts about Penix, and most of it is what SEEMS like a lack of toughness. If it looks like you are always banged up when the going gets tough? That is a bad look...will guys in the NFL follow a guy that walks off the field holding his ribs, head down covered in a towel? The sideline looks at him sometimes were bad...and the performance against Michigan? Yes, pressure effects all QBs, but he was missing throws when not under pressure. The thing that used to piss me off about Russ against the Rams was he would immediately start looking for an escape...even when there was no pressure. He felt it as soon as he saw Blue and Gold uniforms. That is what Penix reminded me off against Michigan. Texas, IMO, had a very similar defense, and he looked great. His draft stock actually would have been higher had all that bullshit that happened late in the game cost us against Texas, and he never faced Michigan.
What to you do in moments like that. He is about fifty fifty against big time defenses. Texas and Michigan are similar to what he will see in the NFL. The way he finished the regular season gave me doubts. Then we beat Oregon and Texas and he looked good, but all those doubts crept back in my head watching him shrink against Michigan.

Re: Annual NFL Draft contest
I feel like I’ll need to change this soon. now I’m starting to think John is gonna trade down. Especially when teams like the Eagles or Steelers will need CB help and the Bills will need a WR. Do I do it the same way and just write “trade down?”. Do I also write who they’ll take if they trade down?.mike_aka_iceman wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 7:54 pmOk, guys. Here goes my mock draft.
Round 1 pick 1: Caleb Williams, QB, USC. (Chicago Bears).

You have 4 hours and 12 minutes to make changes! I will then be creating a new thread and pasting all the entries into locking them in.mike_aka_iceman wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 2:44 pmI feel like I’ll need to change this soon. now I’m starting to think John is gonna trade down.
