More money or not, even Macdonald knows that WAS is a dead end.

From the article:

Essentially, all the things that WAS does not have. If you're Macdonald, the choice is a no-brainer.

The hiring of the younger Sunseri on Monday as a University of Washington defensive assistant coach for Jedd Fisch's staff has been a little overshadowed by all of the Belichick and Carroll hoopla surrounding the Huskies, but his family credentials are no less impressive.

Sunseri, 32, who is expected to coach the Husky safeties, is the son of Sal, who has coached at LSU, Michigan State, Louisville, Florida, Florida State, multiple stints at Alabama, with the Carolina Panthers and Oakland Raiders, and he's currently the defensive-tackles coach for Colorado and Deion Sanders.

I've been reading more about Macdonald as of late and he is all about trying different things and being open to new ideas. Which is essentially the polar opposite of Carroll. So not only do we get a coach who is open to new ideas, but we get one who's half his age. I'm good with that.

And this: "When asked about following up Carroll's legacy during an appearance on Seattle Sports 710 Tuesday, Macdonald's emphatic response was proof.

"I'm not intimidated by that," Macdonald said of succeeding Carroll. "It's not something that I'm worried about, it's something that you want to embrace."

The future looks bright.
