Apple Blossom weekends back in the day- Now just known as the Palm Springs of Washington- lol
Palm Springs of Washington is the sign as you go into Yakima. And Apple Blossom was a blast, until I spent a Saturday Night in Jail and had to go to Sunday Court! LOL

It's nothing like it used to be, or so I've been told. I went to the beer garden in the food court a few years ago, but I never go to Wenatchee on Apple Blossom. They banned cruising when I was still young enough to do it. Actually would ticket people. It's a joke now.

Now I'm more confused, the Bears didn't begin until 1990 and the Braves before them disbanded in 1966. So the time I'm talking about, 1974 there wouldn't have been a team. I don't know, it was minor league baseball
I recall Yakima having one when I was a kid, and I graduated in 91. So? Who knows? Seems the Tri Cities have had teams as well.
Okay, must have been the tri city Padres

In the 90s, I had a food concessions business. We worked Apple Blossom every year, and drank at The Igloo every night, just up the street from my luxury accommodations at Lyle's Motel lol. It was my favorite fair that we did, and Wenatchee is just about my favorite town in the state, except for Pullman of course.

WOW! My grandparents lived 6 blocks due east from the High School on Monroe Street. My Aunt still lives in the house. I had lots of good time there growing up.
Small world. If you are back in the area you have to check out the new softball complex that WHS built right there on Miller St. Of course, it took a Title IX lawsuit before they got a complex even remotely close to as nice as football and baseball. So, now? My team has easily the worst facilities in the big 9.

I wasn't far from your grandparents in the early nineties. Like I said, I lived off Cherry St, in Cherry Manor. We called it Cherry Manure. What a dump, but that was a good thing because we basically had a huge rager there every weekend! There were cops that would drive by because my house was on their nightly weekend route!
My Grandparents had an orchard in Dryden. They moved to Wenatchee in 1989. When they were looking at houses, they looked at one on Cherry street that had a pool. I was bummed they didn't buy that one. LOL.

That drive down the hill through Peshastin, Dryden and Cashmere along the Wenatchee River is about so beautiful you could drive off the road with the scenery!

I was at the Igloo probably every Thursday night the summer of 1994 and 95. I worked two jobs, and my day job was 4 tens. We'd get off at about 9 or 10 on Thursday night, and not have to work until 5 pm on Friday. I could easily go into the Igloo in my grubby clothes, drink pitchers of beer and play pool. There were times I left my house at 6 am in Wenatchee on Thursday morning and would crawl into bed from the after party at 6 am or later on Friday morning! Wake up when ever, drink a gallon of ice tea and eat McDonalds and be good to go! Awe to be young again.

The only thing better than having your own pool is having one you have access to but someone else has to care for! LOL. My father-in-law has one in Cashmere. When my boys were younger we were there a lot.

I am glad I triggered this fascinating Wenatchee discussion. lol

We didn't get the first house likely due to the dogs but are in on another one that seems positive.

Still no respect
. In the latest post-draft power rankings on NFL.com, draft insider Eric Edholm has Seattle listed at No. 19 overall in the league. Interestingly enough, even after the draft, this ranking dropped the Seahawks two spots. What is most interesting - or concerning - is the fact this latest power ranking has Seattle behind all three of their NFC West rivals.

Los Angeles Rams - No. 8
San Francisco 49ers - No. 15
Arizona Cardinals - No. 18
