Who would you trade for

I believe everything begins on the line of scrimmage so would opt for Nelson asap If Sam doesn’t have time he’s horrible. If we have the resources to pick up further help then that would be icing on the cake

If this Nelson guy can play Center or RT it would certainly help.

Looking back at old drafts is always interesting. I didn't realize that Darnold and Nelson were so intertwined. This is a guy you want on your team:

"When Nelson gets on the field, he's mean. There are countless social media clips of him destroying some unsuspecting defender. At the combine he calmly described himself as a nasty player and said his goal for his opponents was to 'take their will away to play the game'."

And Josh Allen was drafted after both of them (#7).

Quentin Nelson, Saquon wouldn't be bad. I don't know about pass rushers. Any WRs we can trade for. Can we package Nelson + would be awesome. People keep saying Jonathan Taylor. Anywhere would be an improvement. Gotta start up front though.

Seems like just about anybody would help. The disturbing thing is that there seems to be no care or concern to make the team better now - almost as if they are just waiting for them to snap back into the SB winning team. Granted, we have no idea what is going on behind closed doors - but we already have 3 losses and we ARE going to lose this Sunday so we will be 3-4. How many more losses can we take before the playoffs are out? 1? 2 at the most?
They seem to be operating under the ideology that Charbonnet will cure the RB woes - maybe they didn't see him the last few years? He's good but not great. The single moronic move that has plagued us this year was letting Walker walk, and signing Shaheed. When you have no run game it seriously exploits that fact that we just have 1 WR.

Trade for Barkley or another legit RB out there on a sorry team to lead/compliment Charbonnet. I saw that Hill is out there as a WR - does he still have anything in the tank? Not sure what is up with the offense - are they just sitting on all our WR's cause they know our run game sucks or is it Darnold or do the other WR's suck so he has nowhere to go? Their lack of doing anything other than picking up reject players hoping for a reclamation is disturbing this year. Could be they love the fact that they have so many draft picks next year and are looking to reload so are willing to lose this year - who knows.

Hawkblogger did a piece saying go get Nelson right now. could probably be had for a Round 2 pick given his age. but supposedly still the best Guard in the game, could perhaps play another 5 years. Of course you dont do it unless you can re-sign him. but no, he's only ever played LG and you dont trade for the premier player at that position and then move him - you move Zabel either to RG or to C. maybe you send Bradford back in the trade, he's in a contract year anyway, so no big deal there. Supposedly coming into the draft Zabel was billed as a utility lineman, took reps at Center at the combine, would not move him for anyone else, but no shame in it if you're adding the No. 1 guy.

I don't like the idea of switching positions during the season. And nelson is going to be expensive to sign again. I think you wait for fleury to get his offense sorted out. Get your RBs back. I think that has a lot to do with it

They still don't get a consistent rush. Overpursue. You need to be in Stafford & Purdys face consistently. It only takes one good shot to either of these guys & suddenly their season looks a lot different. Wouldn't hurt to add another edge guy.

Never so happy to be wrong.

Now we need a WR. You can see the team thinks getting Price and Charbonnet back will fix the run game so forget about Barkley or Taylor. Who is available at WR?

Josh Downs from Indy tops the list, but i'd rather not block Tory Horton and there's only so many balls to go around with JSN on the other side. not a critical need imho, much rather see us go after Nelson or an Edge for the right price. or if they dont trust Price to recover soon, finding a back with speed to run the outside zone would be good, just for this year, so again, not worth spending a lot of draft capital as it would likely take for Taylor. i think Price is the answer going forward.
