I probably wouldn't want him to talk either if I were a Princeton student.
As much as a I love Beast, he's not really a beacon of enlightenment for people who have been professional students from the time they first stepped into a classroom as 5 year olds.

being the point of having him I guess, a different sort voice
“Mr. Lynch’s sustained professional excellence is not the only reason we are excited to have him serve as our Class Day speaker. His substantive work in communities stands alongside his on-field success,” the students said. “Our goal was to invite a speaker who embodies the various experiences we have shared as a community during our Princeton tenure; someone whose professional and personal passions speak to the service-focused and intellectually rigorous interests core to the University.”

They said it was because they didn't have a say. Guessing if Michelle Obama was chosen without their input they would have been delighted.

Michelle Obama is certainly more articulate than Marshawn, although I found that a lot of what Marshawn says to be on point. He'll probably have at least one "gem" in his speech.

I saw this and I first though - well - there's no way to please everybody. I'm surprised this got any notice. In your previous example, I would not be happy and would consider skipping my graduation if I had to listen to M obama. Someone is always going to be unhappy at who's speaking, what movie was chosen, the color of the tablecloth, etc.etc.etc….lol.

You're also not a Princeton graduate lol.Lamda wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 8:19 pmI saw this and I first though - well - there's no way to please everybody. I'm surprised this got any notice. These kids are mostly geniuses... their plans are to be the next leaders in this country. Not to say Michelle Obama is any great thinker, but the former first lady is probably more par for the course than a former NFL football player from Oakland based on their aspirations.
Re: Princeton students not happy with the Beast as a speaker
hehe so you're saying they want a lecturer to come give some dissertation on this/that instead? We've all been around these types, my brother-in-law is one of them and he's a moron, lol. Sure he understands science but he can barely open up a can of chili. These kids need a little street-smarts lesson and I can't think of a better speaker than Lynch

Re: Princeton students not happy with the Beast as a speaker
Marshawn is on a list of people to chose from to engage to speak at a college? Fu(k me. I did not know that.
Good for Marshawn. I had no idea he would consider making himself available for such an engagement.
I knew the guy was pretty cool, but I didn't know he was that cool.
Half the world became briefly fascinated by his short press conference after the 2020 playoff loss where
he said the young dudes needed to take care of their chicken. I'm very curious what a Marshawn talk at a
college would sound like.
