Don't RIP Ken Behring

Popular coach Chuck Knox and the team “mutually agreed to part ways’’ following the 1991 season when the team went 7-9, and Behring’s hand-picked successor, Tom Flores, then oversaw a fall to a franchise-worst 2-14 record in 1992. Among other disputes, Knox and Behring were reported to have clashed over which quarterback to take with their first-round pick in 1991 — Brett Favre or Dan McGwire. Behring wanted McGwire, who became Seattle’s pick at No. 16 overall while Knox favored Favre, who was drafted by Atlanta at 33.

It's amazing the QBs that the Hawks could have had . When I heard the Knox/Favre story I didn't believe it at first. Knox wanted Warren Moon too when he was a FA from Canada. The Nordstroms wouldn't give any guaranteed money so he signed with the Oilers. If you watch the documentary Elway to Marino. There were very few teams that A. had the picks to trade up to #1 and B. Elway was willing to play for. Guess what team checked both those boxes?

It is painful to watch Elway explain how he was from Port Townsend and his wife and most of her family were from Tacoma and how playing in the Kingdome and for Chuck Knox would have been great .. Seahawks never returned any of his agents calls. It's an outstanding show regardless. That part will make your jaw drop to the floor..lol

We were deprived of Elway to Largent.

Didn't know that about Elway. So the Seahawks passed on 3 Hall of Fame QB's over a period of 7-8 years while going with the following (off the top of my head):

Jack Kemp
Dan McGuire
Rick Mirer
Kelly Stouffer
?

They would have been better off sticking with Kemp for 8 years and not using any draft picks on QB's during that time.

You got it... Actually they would have been better off listening Knox or John Elway himself..

I never get the need to be nice jerks and a holes just because their dead. btw the fact that he lived 26 years longer on this Earth than Paul Allen is more proof that life isn't fair.

I never knew this about him, but apparently he was accused of sexual harassment several times, and he was an avid trophy hunter who did some poaching. Instead of RIP I say FTA.
