Re: Gordon is out of the Pokey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does it really help the offense having him out there? Will he change the way teams cover Lockett and Metcalf assuming all three are on the field together, or will he take targets away from them?
Re: Gordon is out of the Pokey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AB update. Bucs were 6-2 without him but just had to have him. Are 1-3 with him and DK had more yards Monday night than AB has had in four games.

He is better than Moore. End of post.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 9:36 pmDoes it really help the offense having him out there? Will he change the way teams cover Lockett and Metcalf assuming all three are on the field together, or will he take targets away from them?

Why is he being held out an additional two weeks after the results of his Covid tests?

Actually, he appeared in 10 games from 2014 through 2017. Then 12 games in 2018 and 11 in 2019. From 2017-2019 he had 154 receptions on 278 targets which seems kind of low, but he averaged 17.4 yards per catch.

Re: Gordon is out of the Pokey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gordon was quite possibly the best WR in the league before his drug issues. He showed an immediate connection with RW last year, particularly on third down. If anybody thinks adding a player of that caliber WON'T help the team, they're kidding themselves. This is not some AB coming off the street (where he's probably throwing bicycles into cameras), Gordon has been on the team, and already liked, already familiar with the playbook. The only question would be whether he's lost a step, or is rusty.
I'd say worst case is he takes away some time from Swain and his 1 catch/game, and becomes a decoy.
Best case is he gives RW a 3-headed monster and an absolute coverage nightmare for other teams.

Re: Gordon is out of the Pokey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Already has proven he was a fit with the team and the QB. The roster spot he costs won't be someone that seriously effects us, and at worst he isn't bette than Moore or Swain, which seems impossible. He was really coming on to finish last year. I think if nothing else it adds a weapon the other team has to account for....more so than the other two, IMO.
The slant routes he converted on third down alone last year make him worth another shot. It is what they have been missing. The ball DK dropped against Arizona? Now you have two guys that can run that route...two physical freaks that can run that route. What is the worst that can happen, he isn't as good as he was last year? He is the #3 receiver. If he just takes looks away from five targets for eleven yards Hollister I am fine with it!

Re: Gordon is out of the Pokey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
is that why it took so long?
When it's all said and done, Gordon will end up having served a regular season's worth of games for his fifth suspension. The wideout had previously missed two entire campaigns in 2015 and 2016 due to suspension.
