Upside, young, no baggage, inexpensive -- with 25 NFL starts.
Would fit in with PC and his teammates love the guy.
Lots of Cougs in the Hawks F.O.
I think he's a perfect fit at this juncture.

I think he'd make a good place holder. I think he could have a brief period of glory like Tebow did the year he won a playoff game for Denver. I watched him one game last year when he was filing in for the injured starter and he looked pedestrian. I say this as a Coug that loved him at WSU.
Re: Gardner Minshew
I'd rather they pursue Huntley.
Re: Gardner Minshew
Also he would bring some swagger and personality to a team that is as flat and lifeless as a dead daisy.

That's what they said about Joe Namath.
Seriously though, I'd be on board with Minshew. Nobody is saying he's a franchise QB, but he IS a gamer, and would generate some interest in a team that REALLY needs some.

I like Minshew. I'd be for it if they did. Not sure that they will. He's definitely not a franchise guy you build around, but he'd be fun.maoling wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 2:36 amWhat do you guys think about working a deal with the Eagles for Gardner Minshew?

Re: Gardner Minshew
You've watched Brooks lay the wood and saw lifeless? I don't see lifeless when I see DK get into fights either, maybe not smart, but not lifeless. I will be interested when the new blood takes over. Hard to be too fired up when you are getting your ass kicked and your leaders aren't exactly emotional guys. But still, even Bobby and Russ weren't flat and lifeless, just a little less outwardly emotional then they were when they were younger.
The Minshew love never hit me. I still have fond memories of him strutting around without a shirt in the snow in Pullman pre Apple Cup, then standing there slumped shoulders crying after the game. This is what has always pissed me off about guys like Newton, Johnny Manzel, Josh Norman, guys like that. Don't act like you are the baddest on the planet if you aren't going to still be that way when you lose. Minshew is smart, he isn't good enough to create a buzz with his play, so he does it with bravado, a moustache and some wife beaters. Good for your brand, not sure it is what is going to work here. Who knows, maybe I am wrong. I just don't like the guy. One year wonder in Pullman and this State acts like he won a local HS State Championship and then started four years for the Cougs. He was in Pullman about as long as Markel Fultz was at the U of W.
