Draft Day 2 & 3 - a look ahead

Post by 57reasons » Fri Apr 29, 2022 4:58 am

Hold picks 40, 41, 72, 109, 152, 153 and 229 (i think, just from memory). only 7 spots to sweat before #40.
Top targets I'm interested in should John want my opinion:

1. QB - Willis. others remaining: Corral, Ridder, Howell - please take a pass until at least round 3.
2. Edge - Ojabo others remaining: Ebiketie, Mafe, D. Jackson, S. Williams and multiple others 3rd round or later
3. CB - Gordon others remaining: Booth, Woolen, McCreary and too many to mention. this class so deep i can wait till
at least 109 if not getting a top talent like Gordon or Booth.
4. RB - Hall or Walker others for later maybe: D. Pierce, J. Cook, I. Spiller big dropoff after first 2
5. WR - Watson/Pickens/Pierce/Tolbert multiple others behind them, so no need to draft early.
would love to get Justyn Ross at 109 - might have to move up a bit from there.
6. LB Dean/Muma others remaining: Smith, Andersen, Chenal, Clark, Asamoah
7. DL Hall/Jones/Winfrey/Leal not much depth here after those guys. i dont think this much of a need given
Shelby Harris' arrival, but Hall or Winfrey might be enticing at 41 or trading back
a bit from there.

I take it Gordon didn't have the greatest combine. All that hype about him being the best athlete in the draft and he isn't even the first Husky DB to be taken lol.

Personally, I wouldn't mind packaging one of our 2nd rd picks to Carolina so they can grab a QB and they give us there 2023 1st rd next year. We could be sitting in the Top 10 with two first rounders and a third wherever Denver lines up.

They aren't punting this season. I want to see us nab two studs back to back tonight.

If it was up to me, I'd take the best defensive player on my board then trade back into the middle of the 2nd and grab T Abraham Lucas or C Cam Jurgens.

Defensive guys I love:
Gordon
Mafe
Williams
Tindall
Jones

And the CB from Clemson, his name slips my mind.

Build the trenches!
I LOVE that they took a lineman for the first pick.
Whoever our starting QB is going to be he'll need protection.
Russ must be like "NOW they get help up front???"
Other than a Linebacker and corner...I hope they keep investing talent on the lines.
It starts in the trenches.

i did just that a couple times in the simulator in the rare time that situation presented itself. if only it were that easy to get another high #1 pick! even if we dont, we already have good capital with our own and the Denver pick, plus 2 second-rounders, to get one of the stud QBs next year.

Imagine if Denver goes 3-14 and we get the number one overall pick after we make a deep run in the playoffs this season. 8-)
