According to Salk three of the rookies, including Kenneth Walker, now have hamstring issues.

Just read that. No contact drills. Guys in their early 20s getting injured by running. WTF.

I don't know, but when this seems to happen every year now for close to a decade maybe they should conclude that it might be wise to tone down the drills a bit.

I think they are just being cautious. You work out and the back of your leg feels a little tender you hardly notice it. But there they will restrict your participation

But are these OTAs more rigorous than actual games? How do these guys get through a season of games going 100% without a pulled hamstring but a couple months later they have to be shut down after running around in shorts?

That's what I'm saying, we are in no way talking about pulled hamstrings. You don't want them to have a pulled hamstring so they are trying to monitor them before one happens, that is what I'm reading. This is being super cautious, monitoring the feeling in a hammy and restricting workouts if it seems tender. If it was the regular season they are playing in games

So if they feel something in their hammy at gametime it's an acceptable risk to go 100% with all their gear on but at an OTA it's too risky to even jog around in shorts? I don't buy it. I think these rookies show up in less than good shape and wouldn't be cleared to play if the season was starting.

Come on, what's the point of pushing anything that could possibly lead to an injury in an OTA. There is nothing to be gained by risking injury in an OTA, an actual NFL game is something else entirely.
