My best guess is Curt Merz. Played for the Chiefs from 1962-68.

Curt Merz, gotta be.

Look like he passed away in April. 84 is a ripe old age for NFL player.

So there was one ladle that everyone used, or did the players have their own custom embossed ladles that they kept in side-holsters under their jerseys?
