Re: From the CringeRuss Files
You know, you might all be kinda right. I don't think Stafford is all that great (really good, just not in that upper echelon of QBs), but what I think the results have shown is that Goff just kinda sucks. He looked OK for a bit because his supporting cast was so good. When Stafford didn't have the supporting cast, he put up numbers but couldn't win sh**.
Stafford is clearly better, but I'm not sure he's THAT much better. If we were ranking NFL QBs on a level playing field, I think Stafford falls 10-15, while Goff maybe 15-25. That could be either significantly better, or marginally better.

Re: From the CringeRuss Files
ESPN qb rankings has Stafford 6th but it's only top 10 so need to look elsewhere for Goff
Profootball network has Stafford 9th, Goff 29th

Re: From the CringeRuss Files
Stafford at 6 and Goff at 29 seems about right.

Stafford is not much. Marginally better than Goff. The team got them the SB win. The 49ers almost went to the SB with Jimmy G, except for this.

If that's the case then why couldn't Goff take the Rams to a SB? Why did they go get Stafford? You're saying they didn't need to? They could have just a<\ kept Goff and won the SB anyway. I doubt many Rams fans would agree with that.

Well, Goff did "take them" to the SB. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_LIIIDonn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Jul 17, 2022 2:02 amIf that's the case then why couldn't Goff take the Rams to a SB? Goff is not very good. Good enough to go 5-4 against the Seahawks, but still not that good. Stafford (3-3 against the Seahawks)
is better than Goff, but not a lot better.
Re: From the CringeRuss Files
The thing Wilson and Stafford have in common is that a fantastic defense allowed them to be super bowl champs.
They are both good not great QB's imo.

Again, what did Stafford do in Detroit and LA compared to Goff? Look at their stats, or better yet, watch a game. The ENTIRE field is in play with Stafford at QB. He changed their offense immensely. Anyone who watches football and watches those two guys throw a football and thinks "yep, they are about the same" is fucking crazy!trharder wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 11:56 pmStafford is not much.
