5th rounder. Makes all those rumors seem ridiculous. All this interest for a guy that ends up being traded before mid July for a fifth round pick! Aurora is right, these reports are flat out made up!

With Mayfield gone and Watson likely suspended, the Browns will now simply continue along their historical trajectory... the omnipotent downward spiral.

Seahawks are tanking for a year with Geno. Just like they did for a year with Tarvaris Jackson.
Re: Breaking: Baker to Carolina
I don't think Seattle is tanking at all. They'll be as competitive as their roster and strategy allows. There is a bigger picture to their strategy, and "let's get Baker and maybe win two more games while still not sniffing the playoffs next year" isn't it. They are treading water, assembling pieces through the draft, analyzing Lock's potential, all with an eye towards the 2023 draft where they have a lot of draft capitol and can plug roster holes accordingly - particularly in the QB room. This is the process. This isn't tanking. They don't need to tank - they won't be great - but they will be competitive. PC's ego woildn't allow them to tank. They don't have the fastest car on the track, adding a different driver now won't help them win the race. Once the drivetrain is assembled they can go after that driver - but it makes NO sense to reach for one now. The car isn't ready. Hard for me to believe PC woiuld ever go in on a tank job. It goes against his BASIC mantra of always compete. If the players thought he was tanking, he'd lose the locker room instantly.
They don't NEED to tank. They are the fourth best team in the division. Nature will take it's course - there will be plenty of losses - but from that the team will grow, mature, and the QB sitch will sort itself out in time for the next draft where they can address it - or not. Then they will have a reasonably loaded roster in a division that is on the decline. I'm probably the only one on here that thinks this, but I think this team is perfectly positioned for the future.

I bet that Geno won't start game one unless lock is the starter. Check who the backup was in 2011 and you will see way Tarvaris started.
