I'm pretty disappointed at how shitty the defense is.
Lots of injuries in the secondary but yeah the high hopes for the new scheme have evaporated.
Seems strange how Pete can't roll out a defense anymore. All the concern with offense but once again it's the crappy defense
Offense was fantastic in the first half and then PC plays for a field at the end of the 1st half with all three time outs left and well look at that we lost by four after just kicking a FG instead of playing for a TD. Then score a whopping 3 points in the second half.

And yes, the D was gross.....again.

Why is on one talking about Geno Smith's stat line? 32-44 325 yards, 2 td's one pick. That's pretty damn good. I can already hear the lamentations about the pick and then two sacks on the last drive - those two sacks looked like blown blocking assignments or good ATL scheming, but as bad as that INT stung - on 4th and 18 Geno did NOT run for 8 yards, throw it underneath short, or take a crushing sack - he threw it up for grabs giving the team a chance. As God is my witness Wilson would've 100% taken a sack there or any of the other options Geno dismissed. This offense could be formidable.

It felt like ATL had the ball all day - but Seattle outgained them 420-386. Didn't feel like it watching them gash Seattle's turnstyle tackling.

If this is Geno's floor, I will take it all day - he is doing what Wilson never would or could - taking what is there and moving the chains. Donkey fans are NOT pleased with Wilson. Much hand-wringing over there - but they eked out a win over SF - thanks in part to Jimmy G mistakes (shocking not shocking) but that Denver D is completely carrying the team - NOT Wilson. Funny how Wilson specifically wanted to go to a team led by the defense - so he "doesn't have to carry the team." There is some real buyers remorse in Denver right now - and I could not be happier about it.

No one knows what is going on with that defense - but also - as history has shown us over the last couple of years - NFL defenses have taken a few games to catch up to the offenses (remember let Russ cook?) so maybe it's just a timing thing. Very poor fundamental tackling - it's easy to point fringers at the coaches, execution and players, but it needs to be acknowledged that these new NFLPA rules that severly limit training camp contact are seriously degrading defenses. The NFL ceding "safetly (oh please) so they can get that 17th game is hurting the on-field product. maybe it'll pick up - seems like teams don't really get going until around games 4-6 ish anymore. Never used to be this way.

Detroit is good - and Goff has plenty of experience beating Seattle - Lions will probably smoke Seattle, but I am looking forward to the "OMG, Seattle will blow the lions away, like 45-3" predictions. Then again, it is the lions, so who the F knows.

Yes, Geno was great for the most part especially the TD pass to DK.

That moronic hold by Lewis on the Penny screen cost us the game.

I can see holding a rusher in the backfield who is going to get a sack if you don't hold. If it isn't called you save the team significant yards and if it is called you aren't much worse off, 10 yard loss but repeat the down.

But the risk reward on a down field hold is so horrible. Penny probably gets almost as many yards without the hold and that penalty took us from the 10 yard line all the way back to the 34 yo (24 yard penalty!) and it was just an obvious hold. He has to know it is going to be called 95% of the time. Just idiotic. Lewis had a great Rookie year and now just sucks.

FG on it:
Losers
Damien Lewis

Both holds were absolute killers. Lewis’ first holding penalty was an obvious one that put Seattle in 1st and 20 (instead of 2nd and 14, I suppose... he got beat bad by Grady Jarrett), and his second one on a throwback screen to Rashaad Penny was just a needless grab. Those were two damaging plays that put him on the bad list. It is also hard to ignore how much this rushing attack is struggling between the tackles, and Lewis is one of the issues.

What's the deal with Lewis and Taylor? Good rookie seasons then nothing but massive suckage.

How was yesterday Geno’s floor? Not sure he has played a better game in his career, let alone while he was here. So, that becomes his floor?
