49ers seemed better. They had an easy time moving the ball on offense. But, still I thought that ineligible man downfield prior to the Geno fumble seemed like a BS call. Hawks were getting close to going up by 1 point, which would've put more pressure on Purdy. Instead they ended up turning the ball over, which loosened up Purdy and effectively was the end of their season.

Or Damien Lewis needs to have a brain and hold his ground in pass pro instead of chasing the tackle who dropped into coverage.

He did it twice and didn't learn from it.

I'm impressed with Purdy more than Geno

Geno is a vet, Purdy is a barely legal looking adult and outplayed Geno. Some of that is the lack of talent around Geno.

This team is at least 2 or 3 years from being a legit deep playoff run team.
Until the fumble, Geno had played a perfect game against undeniably the best defense in the NFL. Only incompletions were throw aways. After the fumble, he forced to throw passes he wouldn't normally.

Purdy, on the other hand, only has to not fuck up, and played against the Seahawks' D, which is bottom-10. That makes life awfully easy when you can hand the ball off for 8 yards any time you want and throw 5 yard passes that go for 75 and a TD, plus have a defense that you know will cover you.

The only chance the Seahawks had was to get a lead and make Purdy play from behind, which he's never had to do.

100% agree. Purdy's team is 100% better across the board than what Geno has to play with, but I like the kid. Pressure situation and comes out in the second half and kills it.

Pete seemed to think it was ridiculous. Would've been a pretty easy non call that nobody would've said anything about. The worst part of football is the impact that the referees have on the outcome.

Despite the Chargers intercepting Lawrence 4 times in the first half and having a 5-0 edge on turnovers. That is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to do.

Yeah, interesting the intended l meaning

. Thus, Purdy has quickly become notable among all the Monsieurs Irrelevant, a designation that dates to 1976, when Paul Salata, a retired wide receiver, announced the final pick—Steelers wide receiver Kevin Kirk—and dubbed him Mr. Irrelevant. Salata, who died in 2021, continued to announce the final pick each year until 2013, when Melanie, his daughter, took over.

“It proves that Dad wasn’t a marketing guy,” Fitch said. “His idea was that it was irrelevant that a player was picked last. He should have called him Mr. Relevant, so we’ve had to work hard to explain that, although in some ways it makes more sense.”
