$4 million is a pretty good salary for a backup. Seems to indicate they're not targeting QB at #5.Cascade Kid wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 11:19 pmDrew Lock re-signed with the Hawks

Re: Free Agency thread
explain your logic? The Seahawks now have two QBs under contract at not-cheap rates. If the plan was to take a QB at #5, what would be the point of signing both guys, knowing they'd have to cut one? Or, do you believe they'll carry 3 on the active roster, like it was 1985?57reasons wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 12:21 amWishful thinking maybe??SeattleAddict wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 12:09 am$4 million is a pretty good salary for a backup. I never said it's impossible that if their guy dropped to 5 they go ahead and take him, but if the PLAN was to go QB, then it doesn't make much sense to sign two veteran QBs prior to the draft.

And with LB Devin Bush, it's just a 1-year deal.

Last two days have been backstop deals against their draft big board.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 8:55 amAaron Wilson @AaronWilson_NFLHasslecracked wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 7:10 pmWe signed C Evan Brown. Started 12 games for Detroit last year

Yeah, they have been hedging the last couple of days, which is smart. Evan Brown is most likely a center. But after training camp, anything is possibleCascade Kid wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 2:47 pmLast two days have been backstop deals against their draft big board.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 8:55 amAaron Wilson @AaronWilson_NFLHasslecracked wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 7:10 pmWe signed C Evan Brown. I don't know about Devin Bush, but the more I read, the more I like the Evan Brown signing. Lions fans have nothing bad to say about him, say that he's a good center that just needed a chance to start. Played guard because Ragnow had the center spot occupied, but is better at C. And they basically signed him for free, so let's draft a C-of-the-future and let the competition begin! At worst, he's a better G than Jackson was this past year.
