Homer to the Bears
Homer to the Bears
Homer signs a 2yr $4.5mill deal with Chicago. This leaves the Hawks with just 2 RB's, almost guaranteeing that we will draft at least one running back.

I haven't done a mock draft in awhile, and I sure I will again soon, but I had some pretty good ones fall to me several times. I have always said, you draft RBs, you don't pay them.

Seems like Homer should be a league Minimum type guy. Not sure why the Bears would give him that much money.

Think Homer was more valuable than the board gave him credit. He is a good special teams guy, he is also a running back that could block, he could pick up a blitz as well as catch passes. He was a good value for the hawks on a rookie contract. That's really the nurs and bolts of good roster construction, cap management, guys like that

Good point. The Seahawks signed Nick Bellore for 2 years $6.6, and he doesn't play besides ST. No one in here batted an eye, including me. Seems excessive for a special teamer though?Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 7:02 pmThink Homer was more valuable than the board gave him credit. Yeah, not saying he is worth $4mil but for a drafted guy, that actually worked out for PCJSMichael K. wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 7:03 pmBecause bad teams pay RBs.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 6:48 pmSeems like Homer should be a league Minimum type guy. Here you go, though their picks haven't nesssarily all worked out that wellMichael K. wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 7:03 pmBecause bad teams pay RBs.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 6:48 pmSeems like Homer should be a league Minimum type guy. Not sure why the Bears would give him that much money.
. Spending money on an older running back seems less likely this offseason, as for an unknown reason John Schneider is hellbent on making only brilliant moves. The money has gone to defensive line, and if conventional wisdom prevails - which is miraculously has thus far - a wide receiver would follow ahead of a runner.
That leaves the Seahawks to do, well, what they do.
According to Timo Riske, Schneider and Pete Carroll have drafted twice the NFL average amount of running backs over the previous five years.

I agree the Seahawks draft more RB's than others do. Look at how they want to play. Seriously if Marshawn were still a viable option he would be on the roster. Seahawks RB get brutalized. As much as I like K9, he will only play 10ish games next year. You need to draft at least 2 more RB's.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 3:06 pmHere you go, though their picks haven't nesssarily all worked out that wellMichael K. wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 7:03 pmBecause bad teams pay RBs.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 6:48 pmSeems like Homer should be a league Minimum type guy.
