An RB averaging over 10 yards a catch is pretty rare and impressive.

This was what they meant by slow...
He lacks the vision to recognize and exploit opportunities quickly and the elusiveness to dart in and out of developing run lanes.
I don't know about that. I'm no pro scout, but I watched a few of his games and saw the opposite. Quick feet, hit the hole fast. made people miss, then run over people for the extra couple yards. His pass catching is what really stood out, though - soft hands and a knack for getting open.
He does not seem slow to me, and he fights for yards at the end of the play. He likes contact, can catch the ball and makes people miss. To me he is a Day One special teamer, kick or punt returner, solid multi-tooled insurance back, Swiss Army Knife and a pure gamer.

What's not to like?

From that same article...
Strengths

Ran with better consistency as the 2022 season progressed.
Impressive burst to clear the line scrimmage.
Pure speed bolsters success as outside runner.
Able to crank up a forceful finish.
Above average contact balance in the open field.
Very natural pass-catcher out of the backfield.
Able to exploit linebackers with wheel routes.
Willing to step in and take on blitzers.
His combine 40 time was 4.62 so i don't know what he means by "pure speed".
I was going to point out, he is supposed to be a good pass defender. That's an important skill, taking on the blitz

Yeah, meant pass protector, not defender
Taller back with chiseled musculature. One cut runner with substantial lower body fluidity. Quick in small spaces, with agile cuts and darts between tackles. Subtle feet that bring a springy element to his game. Willing and able to garner the tough yards. Not afraid of a pile and will drop his shoulder into a crowd. Feet and legs consistently churn, enabling him to fall forward on the bulk of his carries. Quick decision-maker that parlays his vision into open field burst. Shows the capability to be a three-down back, both as a receiver and pass protector.

That was written about McIntosh, or Charbonnet? If the former, that's the diametric opposite of the assessment from the article i quoted.

That guy gave him a second round grade. Also, the assessment was written before the 2022 season.

I didn’t want a back in the second round I wanted a DT or a Center there, but I’m not going to lie I’m excited to see him in real time. Exciting backfield.
