Too bad he isn't a DT or NT.

My son whats the Hawks to pick him up on a 1-year contract.
I don't think that would provide anything for this team. They have 2 great receivers and one rookie that will [most likely] be very good.
So, why waste the money?
We need DL!!!!

We are up against the Cap and set at WR. Doubt he would sign for vet minimum....Makes no sense.

we CLEARLY can't afford him, but holy shit, what IF???
When healthy, he is the scariest WR in the NFL, bar none. If we ran a run and shoot type offense it might make sense, but having 4 pro-bowl level WRs would be a waste of talent in our run-heavy scheme.
just please please please don't sign with the Rams or 49ers.

I don't think the Rams can afford him. And Hopkins is likely more interested in a team on the cusp.

It might. And that is potentially frightening. But the Niners' regime is a team that drafts and builds from within. They tend to stand pat. Not sure if an overaged receiver is something they would be interested in. I suppose it would depend on what Hopkins is seeking.
San Francisco acquired their 53 players in the following ways:
Drafted or signed as undrafted rookies: 32 players
A long list of very talented players were drafted by San Francisco but not just by this regime under John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan but by past regimes as well including players like defensive lineman Arik Armstead and defensive back Jimmie Ward.
The core of the team was drafted by this regime including tight end George Kittle, RB/WR Deebo Samuel, pass rusher Nick Bosa and the rest of the talented defense.
Signed as free agents: 16 players
While the Niners have signed a decent number of free agents, very few of them have been of the big-name or contract variety. Cornerback Charvarius Ward and fullback Kyle Juszczyk are two of the few decent-sized contracts given out by the team to outside free agents.
Traded for: 5 players
Three of the five players traded for would fall under that “big-name” umbrella with (injured) QB Jimmy Garoppolo, running back Christian McCaffrey and offensive tackle Trent Williams.
49ers Roster Acquisition: 60.4% from the NFL Draft or undrafted free agents, 30.2% in free agency, 9.4% via trade

So the Cardinals could have cut him post June 1 and spread out the cap hit over 2 years but didn't. They took a dead cap 1/10th of the entire budget to just be done. They are very clearly tanking this season, as are the Rams.
This is a two-horse race. Unfortunately the horse we're up against kinda looks like Secretariat

If Secretariat didn't have a jockey....Pretty much a lock for four wins. Just need to go 7-6 in the other 13 and be 11-6. That likely wins the division.

well it SHOULD be, but the fucking Rams always find a way to beat us (or close to it) even if they have 47 players on IR.
