Thursday Night Massacre Predictions

Post by auroraave » Thu Nov 30, 2023 3:36 pm

Gonna go Cowboys 37-16. Seahawks will somehow come out and score to go up 7-0 and then the wheels will come off. Seattle doesn't lack the talent, they just lack everything else. This team has given up from the looks of it. There was a time when Seattle was the Amazon in a JC Penney world, now they are the JC Penney. It's sad they will waste those beautiful throwbacks on their public execution. I'm already embarrassed for how sad this team has become. Anyone else feel like we've been watching the same awful movie for too many years now? At least they aren't trotting out those green abominations.

go hawks (throwback unis)!

40 - 9. Geno gets sacked 7 times for 53 yards. 12 penalties against the Seahawks for 125 yards. They will throw the ball 36 times and run it 18 times. They will convert less than 30% of their 3rd downs while allowing the Cowboys to convert over 50%. Geno will complete less than 40% of his passes in the red zone and they will average less than 3 yards per carry there. DK will draw at least one unsportsmanlike penalty and Reek will miss at least 3 tackles and run into another defender trying to make a key 3rd down tackle to extend a drive for the Cowboys.

It is funny that back when they first wore those Uniforms literally nobody ever talked about them or really any uniforms at all. Now so many people are obsessed with what other dudes wear when playing sports. Just a bizarre phenomenon.

You are literally the only person that refuses to acknowledge their awesomeness. That, to me, is bizarre. There is nothing wrong with recognizing and appreciating things that look good. I don't understand your stigma with that, but that is your choice. I love those throwbacks and everyone seems to agree they should be the standard - yet you have an issue with it and continue to act like everyone else is 'weird' when you are in the vast minority on this. I take pride in how I dress - why would you not? Go ahead and argue that - but suggesting it's weird to appreciate clothing and looks and uniforms that rep your city - makes no sense to me at all. What specifically do you have against people appreciating the throwbacks? What, specifically, is bizarre about that? Don't you wear seahawks gear? So, you don't care what it looks like? when you step out in public, you don't care about your appearance? That, to me, is baffling. why would you not take pride in your appearance? Of course, I live in LA, so it's pretty much a given I have to

And this is what is so frustrating. The roster is solid, everything else (coaching, game planning, etc.) is absolute shit.

My buddies and I talked about those uniforms all the time back then. The difference is we talked about it while wearing the jerseys and playing football on the playground....didn't post and tweet about it. LOL

I have a feeling we are going to be a bit fired up and make this close for awhile. But the offense will not get going against Dallas. Why? Because Dallas is susceptible to the run, and we have an OC that thinks Geno is Dan Marino!

Dallas is 8th in passing defense and 22nd against the run. They are third in the NFL in sacks. Who here thinks that Seattle's staff gives a shit about that? Who else besides me thinks they will run a dive play on every first down and then throw on every down after? So fucking tired of this bullshit. The game of football is about offense these days. And lately? I've had to watch an Apple Cup where it seems that WSU knew our signals, a direct quote from Grubb...sorry, that's on us, not WSU. That game was like watching teeth get pulled on offense, and I don't buy Grubb's excuse...Penix missed on every throw. Even half of his completions would have gone for more yards if he makes a good pass. BUT...I digress. I am mostly bitching about the fact that in 2023, a time when offenses are racking up points like it's Tecmo Bowl? This is the damn offense I am stuck with lately?

The Huskies, I hope, will turn it around. But my GOD, my biggest fear about Geno has been realized, and what's worse? The coaching staff doesn't seem to care. Dive play, incomplete followed by completion short of the sticks. You want me to diagram plays? That is what I expect from this staff and Geno tonight.

17 to 3 Dallas at the half
30 to 10 final score.

Dallas is going to run it way more than most of us expect. That is why they only score 30. They control the ball just about the entire game, because, why not? I mean, we are 30th against the run this year. All those moves to boost the D line and the run defense? Maybe it's time to start looking at the scheme?

it is beyond any kind of logic. It's like everything is just a click off. I cannot understand the offensive philosophy - one half geno looks like a world beater, then it's crickets for 7 quarters. We may just have a really dumb team.

Well, we are below average at a very important position. QB. I also think that we missed on the O Line. Lucas is broken, and Cross is pretty good, but first round talent as a LT? Maybe not. Oh, and as has been the case for how many fucking years now? The interior of the O Line seems to suck ass. I kind of miss the days of Fluker, Sweezy and Britt. You knew we couldn't pass protect...but DAMN, those dudes could run block.

this is why I wanted Carter over witherspoon. the defensive line dictates everything - not the secondary. This defense was build from the back first which is a huge mistake. A great secondary does not make a dline look better, but a great d line makes everyone else look better. The capitol seattle has expended in the secondary is a colossal failure - not one player on the secondary makes any difference when your dline is weak. How this is a mystery to anyone who has ever watched football is beyond me. Win the trenches, win the game. So what do we do? Have 40 players in the secondary. it's embarrassing. This would be a better team with carter than witherspoon - who will end up injury prone within a year from the beating a good dline could likely prevent.

That's probably because everyone liked or loved them. The team (or rather Paul Allen) made it an issue worthy of discussion by scuttling them in favor of a bizarre new look.
