JS interviewed Quinn twice. That would seem like some interest
In hiring him.

Isn't that why he was interviewing him?

Fired because he’s a clown, not a journalist. I’m done with the Coug whining. Their President was on the committee that turned down $30 million per school from ESPN. The Big 12 took that offer. Then? The PAC tries to sell everyone on the beauty of streaming, on Apple TV. That offer? Was $25 million. So? Less money to be in fewer screens….but it’s the UW’s fault. USC, UCLA and Colorado had all already left, but it’s the UW’s fault.

Being pissed at UW instead of the Big 10 would be like being mad at some rando dude that said yes to your GF asking him to F her instead of being mad at your GF. Zero rage at the Big 10 who unecessarily excluded them.

That is a good point, but the Big 10 had to draw the line somewhere. USC and UCLA never leave if those idiots signed the $30 million per school per year deal ESPN had on the table. Again....the Big 12 said yes, the Pac 12 said no. Remind me, which Conference is still alive?

Then, to make matters worse. They cried victim acting like the deal that was $5 million LESS was the greatest offer in history. An offer to stream. Not ESPN, not the largest platform to show sports in America. Apple fucking TV. They pretended they were doing this to be innovative. In actuality? They were trying to cover up the fact that they blew it!
ESPN reportedly offered $30 million per school to the Pac-12 in the fall of 2022 in a media deal that, in hindsight, could have mitigated the conference’s current collapse amid Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Washington, and Utah making recent departure decisions.

According to John Canzano’s newsletter, ESPN’s offer covered the conference’s media rights, including the Pac-12 Network. The Pac-12’s presidents and chancellors reportedly told commissioner George Kliavkoff to reject the offer. They countered with $50 million per school, which ESPN did not entertain ahead of their current Pac-12 deal set to expire on July 1, 2024.
https://frontofficesports.com/pac-12-re ... %2C%202024.

To make matters WORSE? WSU's President was on the committee that thumbed their nose at $30 million.
The Washington State president and chair of the Pac-12 board was heavily involved in the media rights saga that spanned 13 months and ended last week in a failed effort to save the conference.

“We should have had more robust conversations about our value in the marketplace,” Schulz told the Hotline on Friday.
https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/wsu ... tic-offer/
Schulz served on the Pac-12’s three-person executive committee for the first year of the media negotiations, along with Washington’s Ana Mari Cauce and Stanford’s Marc Tessier-Lavigne; he became chair in July.

“Nobody wants to hear it,” Schulz said, “but sometimes you need a reality check … rather than spending too much time chasing fantasy numbers.”
So, one of the schools left behind was a part of a committee that decided the TV deal with ESPN wasn't good enough.
But Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark got a new TV contract with ESPN and Fox done about two months after he officially became commissioner. The deal leapfrogged the Pac-12 in getting a new media agreement done and will pay out $31.7 million per school, including Pac-12 defectors Arizona State, Arizona, Utah and Colorado.
So, the Big 12 got $1.7 million more. The Pac 12 was asking for around $20 million more, but acted all but hurt that the schools didn't jump at a streaming offer that was $5 million less!? Honestly? This Conference deserved to die, and the fact that WSU had their President on the committee that dealt the death blow and still plays the victim!?

Ian Furness is far worse than Moore ever was when it comes to pathological hatred/envy of UW. Moore may have been a bit of a clown as a radio host, but as a human being i'd take him any day over some lefty bitch who thinks he is an oppressed victim because of where he chose to attend college.

I think I might take him at 16. If we can trade down the 20s and do it and get a second rounder then absolutely.
