Our first round pick poll

Post by D-train » Sat Feb 24, 2024 3:31 pm

What should we do with the first round pick. This assumes all these guys are available at 16 without trading up.

Murphy discussed. btw these NFL Draft experts lamenting NIL weakening the draft is so ridiculous. It is OBVIOUSLY temporary. Now going forward there will just be more seniors and less Juniors which is a good thing given the best players will have one more year of college experience. That act like it will cause a permanent shortage or something like guys will quit football after college or something.

I think we trade down a bit, but I'm hoping they snag Queen in FA.

Yeah the lack of the second round pick makes that most likely. Can do that AND add Queen. MM connection makes that more likely.

Agreed. I trade down almost every time I do a simulation. Mostly because I feel there are still a cluster of players available I’d be OK with. That said, it’s not a simulation. There is a very good chance no one offers to trade up. In every simulation a I’ve traded our first pick? I’ve accepted an offer.

If Byron Murphy is considered mid to upper 1st round material then i'd grab him. Otherwise trade down and try to get an additional pick in the 2nd round so you can adress interior O line.

Good piece on JJ. Doesn't look like he will be an option either.

As a result, both players have been projected to be first-round picks at one point or another, with Murphy going as high as No. 5 in some Mock Drafts.

And while No. 5 might be a reach, there is one thing that is clear - Murphy will be a highly coveted prospect.
