This is amazing.....1993 was the last time we drafted a QB in the first two rounds.
Apparently Rick Mirer really turned them off.

So, after the Howell trade, which was virtually the same as a draft pick QB, this is the year that JS will draft
a QB in the first two rounds? Seems unlikely to me.

What do you guys think of this attempt to read the Tea leaves of JS's comments about Penix?

I guess I don't need an opinion, because this cat at 12th Man Rising seems to know and he can just tell me.
Someone saying "real steady performer," "had a real nice workout," "really cool person," and "we’re all happy for Michael" does not exactly scream, "We are completely into drafting this guy!" The words might as well say, "Look, Grubb and Huff coached this guy within the last year and we aren't going to say anything bad about him, but we are definitely not taking him in the 2024 NFL draft."
What ever dude. Sounds like a GM talking about a QB that is projected to possibly go early in the draft. This could have been said about the guys last year and the year before, other than the contact with the coaches here. Why bring up Grubb and Huff at all if they don't like the kid?

Yates is a touch more credible. Has him going 12-15th. I can't believe Nix is still being considered a first rounder by some. Just bizarre.

Seahawks top needs, I don't understand Beebe helping the defense
Top three needs: G, LB, TE. The Seahawks will likely sign a veteran guard soon, but that still leaves an opening at the other starting spot. Given how often general manager John Schneider talks about the lack of quality offensive linemen in the NFL, picking in the middle of the first round might offer one of his best chances to find one.

Seattle signed Jerome Baker and Tyrel Dodson to replace Jordyn Brooks and Bobby Wagner at inside linebacker, but both got one-year deals, and there's not much experienced depth behind them. At tight end, Noah Fant (two years) and veteran Pharaoh Brown (one) are on short-term deals, so the Seahawks could use a rookie with four years of club control to fill the No. 2 or 3 role. -- Brady Henderson

Prospect to fill a need outside Round 1: Cooper Beebe, G, Kansas State. Beebe would fill in right away at left guard where he has had a wealth of experience. New coach Mike Macdonald will likely want to shape this defense around what he ran in Baltimore, and Beebe would help Seattle's strength up the middle. -- Reid

Sounds like "Reid" thinks the Seahawks need to draft a guard/nose-tackle. Perhaps he sees Beebe as the first two-way lineman in the past 70+ years of NFL history.

I am really warming to the idea of drafting Troy especially if we can get him in the 20s giving us a 2nd round pick in the process and Super Duper especially if this guy is right and he can play T. I share his philosophy in terms of preferring Lineman that can play football vs. guys with long arms that can jump high and have good shuttle times just like I like baseball players that can hit vs. the guys that won five blue ribbons on field day in 6th grade.
“He just may not be that super-mauler guy with 38-inch arms and unbelievable mass,” Edholm said. “To me, I’d rather have the technician who just reaches all the benchmarks as opposed to somebody who’s way beyond them but doesn’t have the football part of it as mastered as he seems to.”

If they hadn't drafted Oluwatimi last year i would be all in on going after Powers-Johnson at 16. But i would agree now trade down and get someone like Fautanu.

The last CB on planet Earth is getting a lot of press lately.
