$1.075 million for 2024 and $1.190 in 2025 in his last two seasons on his rookie deal. Howell is due base salaries of $985,000 and $1.1 million the next two years.

That is why they got him.....$3mill less than Lock was last year
Yep, a cheap backup with upside to even unseat your current starter. I like Sam at Sam's cap number a howell of a lot better than Geno at his!!!

that's what happens sometimes when you try to do too much, easy for young QBs on losing teams to do. same knock as Drew Lock had. I do have a little more faith in Howell than Drew, and he costs less, so well done!

I feel better about this now that I've had a Guinness. We couldn't just go with Geno and some raw untested draft pick, so with no Lock we needed someone with NFL experience.

I read that Howell went 17 TDs vs. nine picks in his last 10 games.* Washington's O-Line was dreadful by most reports. Also, people were ripping on the coaching and saying Howell was in a shitty situation all year long.

So welcome to Seattle lol! I don't think he is going to hurt us, and this may turn out to be a fortuitous trade.

*That was a shit stat lol. It looks like he was 17/9 TD/Int in his FIRST ten games. His stats took a dump after the Seattle game lol.

This was the most telling insight into what the new regime is thinking we've seen.
I've heard we could still take a QB in the draft, but I highly doubt it. Brock Huard's JJ vision is toast.
JS told Wyman and Bob; that Howell is the backup. So if you believe that, we lost draft position (not picks)
to save $4 million in cap. What the fuck are we saving all this cap space for?
Yes, we'll turn the 16 pick into two picks later, but after having just pissed away value for cap space,
I predict there's another surprise coming where we turn a big-name Seahawk into draft picks.
DK would be the most likely suspect.

I don’t hate it. He had no help in Washington, and was really pretty damn good at the start of last year. He was a hot ass in Fantasy Football land there for awhile. My guess is Grubb likes him.

Schneider does as well, obviously. He was singing his praises on Wyman's podcast yesterday.

For you that might be singing praises, but what I heard is "Geno is the guy and Sam will be backing him up". (direct quote from JS).
We shifted back in draft position to save cap space by getting a backup QB on his rookie contract.
What are we saving this cap space for?
