Almost assures we're trading back now that another day 2 pick is gone...

Ranked 31st of 50 in Passer rating last season. He seemed effective vs. us but we sucked.

Honestly I don't hate it.
Had a 2nd round projection but was dropped to the 5th. He's basically a better Drew Lock and they moved down picks in the draft to get him for free. Not many guys out there throwing for 4,000 yards. If they can get him to be a bit more disciplined he could be a nice upgrade.

I wouldn’t call giving up a 3rd for free. I believe we only have 1 pick in the top 100 now

"Giving up" isn't what they did. They swapped the 3rd for a 4th and a 5th for a 6th.
As I said, it almost assures they trade back... maybe even a couple times to add some day 2 picks. Draft is strong day 2, so it's my hope they do that.
I'm sure Grubb had some input here. The dude can really spin it and if it's going to be a pass-heavy offense, Geno won't cut it.
