What's the story about that pricy boot?
And why do you only have one of them?
If I were still reporting, those would be my first two questions and then I would stfu up and listen lol.
Re: Welcome Mike the Iceman!
In 2021, I accidentally got MRSA injected into my left ankle on Wednesday about 5pm. By Thursday night, I was running a small fever. By Saturday afternoon, I was sweating buckets with a large fever and unable to get out of bed. Called 911 and was taken to the hospital where I clocked in with a 104.8° temperature. 12 hrs later they did surgery on my left ankle and took out 9.5 liters of MRSA byproduct. High temp lasted 3 more days. I was in a isolation room for 4.5 months where Docs and Nurses had to gown up to walk into my room...anything brought out of my room was either burned immediately or boiled. I lost the ability to walk. My ankle was so weakened, that I was given a custom made crow boot(think ski boot on steroids) to protect my ankle from getting hit. Just got my new one and it cost $2900. The funny thing is...it is 2in taller than my normal shoe... just what I needed more height

I got the equivalent of a cortisone shot into my ankle...the doc hit a MRSA bacteria on my skin and drove it down inside the ankle. It was a lottery odds kind of hit. No way doc could have seen or known it. Had a top attorney look into it and he said there was no malpractice....it was just an accident.D-train wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 10:25 amUnbelievable. This is why I go long stretches without posting. Any kind of sickness and I go back into the hospital. There is only one antibiotic that keeps the MRSA in my body at bay. If that fails, I lose my leg or my life....both things I am fond of. So, I wear the boot while using an old man walker to get around school. I am coaching again( my freshmen boys were 13-5 this year...first time over .500 in 20 years) and trying to beat this damn thing.
Re: Welcome Mike the Iceman!
Jesus, I feel guilty about whining about my $2600 Aston Martin Key. btw I found a used key online for $400 and called a Euro Auto repair place to see if they could program it but they couldn't. So I called the Dealership and they said they couldn't program a used one either. I asked how are dozens of keys available online that can't be reprogrammed. He said "I don't know" but we can't.
I asked how is labor $1000. He said $259 an hour for 2 hours. I said that is only $518. He said Hold on. Came back and said there was a $259 diagnostic fee and the key itself is actually $1800. I told him I thought it was price gauging. Just unreal.
