You're saying use the first pick on a guard?

Re: Thread for draft simulations:
Sure, why not? But only if he trades back or someone like Banks is still there at 18. A lot of those guys played OT in college so that adds to their value. Otherwise, if the WR McMillan or the TE Warren or the RB Jeanty (among others) drop that far it would be hard to say no.

Other than that would be out of character for JS

Yeah, I was agreeing with you. I had thought to put it in the postMichael K. wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 6:52 pmThat is my point. Simply pointing out the draft picks they have, in comparison to other teams that finished the way they did last year, and then saying they are positioned well? Is completely missing the point, and neglecting the importance of the QB and O Line positions...and as SH pointed out? The reduction in talent at WR.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 2:24 pmYeah, it's not the same team as last season, or is Darnold with the same team either, gonna be interesting

I don't think he has much of a choice now. He can't go into the season with Haynes and Bradford (or Jones) as the starting guards. Not unless he is hoping to be working for another team this time next year.

Okay, let's see, I say he can't bring himself to use a number one draft pick on a guard

It'll be interesting to see what he does. If i had to bet i'd say he trades back to about 25 and takes an OG or OT that projects as a guard.

Re: Thread for draft simulations:
Well, to be more precise, if there were the following options to bet on:
1. trade back into late 1st round & draft a guard
2. pick a non-guard at 18
3. trade back into 2nd round
...i would go with option 1, although it is still below 50% likelihood of happening.

Last year's simulation mock. I got Haynes and Barner for the Hawks. Christian, please live up to you draft status and hype from 2024.
