Re: Well this sucks
Maybe he was told that NBA front offices realize the coaching at UW stinks and hence he would be seen as more of a raw talent that can be developed.

In the right circumstances, Nate Roberts is very draftable!
Take, for instance, 1980.
The Sonics, with the 20th pick in the 1st Round, selected 6'7" Small Forward Bill Hanzlik, who went on to have a 10 year career. After two years with the Sonics under Coach Lanny Wilkens, he was traded to the Denver Nuggets, where he played the rest of his career alongside Alex English and under Coach Doug Moe.
Hanzlik is 64 now but even his trade was interesting:
The NBA went 10 rounds back in 1980, so sure, in a different circumstance, in a different place and time, Nate Roberts is very draftable.

More from down memory lane, here's another tidbit: in that same 1980 draft, with the 3rd pick in the 7th round, the Golden State Warriors selected Lorenzo Romar.June 16, 1982: Traded by the Seattle SuperSonics with a 1982 1st round draft pick (Rob Williams was later selected) to the Denver Nuggets for David Thompson. Denver originally received Wally Walker but he was ruled ineligible.

Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!
