They got bounced out of the NCAAs rather rudely, there's a feeling there was friction in the program after that
After the No. 13 Washington softball team took down Indiana 8-7 in the NCAA Regionals on May 17, it looked to be coasting to another Super Regionals berth, especially with Omaha stunning No. 9 Missouri.

Now, less than two days later, its 2024 season is over.

Following a shocking 3-2 loss to Omaha earlier on Saturday, UW needed a win against UM if it wanted to keep its year alive. Instead, a 4-1 loss to the Tigers (45-16, 13-11 Southeastern) sent it going back to Seattle rather than the Super Regionals.

Something was up. There was a lot of conversation at our State Tournament Memorial Day weekend, since it had just happened. No one seemed to have any clue, but it's not like I spent a ton of time talking to the other coaches about it.

They collapsed to finish the regular season as well. They lost like their last three Conference games then got trounced in the Conference Tourney. Something seems off. I don't think it's all travel. Crazy that this happens now though. That team ALWAYS seems to have fun. I have met Heather several times, been to their camps, been around those kids (not this year's kids). This shocks me.

Looks like the Pac-whatever will live on. They added a bunch of State colleges and now Gonzaga for basketball so WSU can be their bitch twice a year now.

lol well both WSU and UW were their bitch since Few got there - that's just the facts. It's simply about adding a high profile bball team to the conference, which can't hurt.

What I find funny? The Cougs bitched for months about getting screwed over. And now? They are screening others over by taking SOME of the teams from different Conferences. Isn’t that EXACTLY what they cried about? Being left out?

The victims become the assailants, but now it’s all good?

Gonzaga might not join the Pac after all. It's hard to see what would be in it for them. They are almost guaranteed a tournament berth every year in the WCC.

Money one would assume and I imagine that's the hangup. I'm guessing their split is complicated by not having a football team

Again, I don't see how this isn't extremely hypocritical of OSU and WSU. Cry for over a year about being left out, about how it's not fair, blah blah. But now? They are going to steal only SOME teams from the Mtn West, and Gonzaga from the WCC? Sorry, you can't bitch about being left out unless you plan on doing it differently when it's your turn. Fucking WSU President was on the committee that turned down ESPN, the same agreement that the Big 12 took. The Big 12 now has a Conference and the ass hat at WSU has spent every second since deflecting blame. I posted a quote some time ago where he is ON RECORD saying "we may have overvalued our worth!" Ya fucking think? BUT, not his fault, don't look behind the curtain, we are victims. But now? Everyone rejoices because they are going to rob from other Conferences to better their own. You know, exactly what the ACC, Big 12 and Big 10 did?

Now they are suing the Mountain West conference over the penalty they agreed to if they did poach teams from their conference, go figure

I saw that! Even more hypocrisy! All the screaming about who has to pay them what, and now they don't want to pay when they are the ones poaching teams? Hilarious. You can't make this shit up.

I'm sure the excuse will be the all too familiar grade school cry of "they started it!" This is funny as shit. What hypocrites. And all because a committee, of which the biggest bitch in this entire thing, the WSU President, was a part of...turned down ESPN asking for $50 million per school. What a fucking dolt.
