Re: Crab-apple Cup game thread
To be honest the air raid is garbage and I really don't understand why other teams can't play it as well as we do. 50% of their completions are within 2 yards of the line of scrimmage and I would wager they throw it past 10 yards in the air less than 5% of the time. It helps that we have so much speed to close down space. But their offense is really predictable and not that complicated. There is a reason why leaches QBs always lead the nation in passing but can't do anything in the NFL. Their basically just throwing handoffs.

As disappointing as the Dawgs D was at times this year, they still shut down not only the Cougs record-setting Air Raid, but also the Trojans version, with their superb trio of future NFL receivers. 27 points to those two teams combined. it's the run D that failed this year, mostly on the LBs but a bit also on an underwhelming first half by Levi. and of course the massively underperforming O.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2019 10:21 pmTo be honest the air raid is garbage and I really don't understand why other teams can't play it as well as we do. 50% of their completions are within 2 yards of the line of scrimmage and I would wager they throw it past 10 yards in the air less than 5% of the time. Cougs scored 63 vs. UCLA, 34 vs. ASU, 41 vs. Colorado, 35 vs. Oregon, 49 vs. Stanford, 54 vs. OSU and 13 vs. us. Why don't all of those D coordinators just copy Lake's game plan?????

Yeah, LB play really hurt us this year. I have a feeling we will correct that.57reasons wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2019 11:10 pmAs disappointing as the Dawgs D was at times this year, they still shut down not only the Cougs record-setting Air Raid, but also the Trojans version, with their superb trio of future NFL receivers. And if you made the same post using last season's figures, and the season before that, etc., you'd come up with similar numbers against just about everyone else and then a low number against UW. You would think that someone would look at that and say hey, let's try what UW does.

If you listen to Max Borghi it's because his team mates make too big a deal of the game and are soft. I'd have a hard time playing with that dude. Talk mad shit about how good you are, then talk shit about your team mates when you lose? Way to lead dude.
Re: Crab-apple Cup game thread
2019 class they loaded up on LBs, so the future is bright, but the one who was pegged for early PT (Calvert) got hurt in camp, and other projected starter (Beavers) suddenly retired. not to mention again about Kaho - what a difference he could have made!Michael K. wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 1:48 amYeah, LB play really hurt us this year. Speaking of "crab" apple - anyone else hear Leach's post-game attack on that reporter? that was truly pathetic even by Leach's "high" standard.
