He does seem like a guy that would be interested in the NFL but he needs to win big here to get that chance. Can't believe people lazily link him to Florida.Michael K. wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 8:16 pmYeah, not a great situation in year one of the BIG. We might get absolutely mauled by a few of the big boys. It's not a horrible schedule though, so six to eight wins seems like it would be not so terrible. Have to expect some growing pains with an entirely new coaching staff and a roster made up of what, 70% new players?
If Fisch sticks around I have faith in him getting this team in the Top 10 or 20 again, with a possible Final 4 run here or there. But I have less faith that he sticks it out. I hope I am wrong there.

You can regularly be in the Top 10 or 20, and even make long playoff runs, without winning the Conference now. I think they are much closer to pushing for playoffs and Top 20s before they are beating Michigan or Ohio State.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 10:36 amI'm saying a big ten championship be impressiveIf Fisch sticks around I have faith in him getting this team in the Top 10 or 20 again, with a possible Final 4 run here or there

And then there's the SEC.
here's Oklahoma
here's Oklahoma
They move to the SEC and they have to defend their programSince the turn of the millennium, no football program has won more games than the Sooners. OU captured the 2000 national championship, played for it again in 2003, 2004 and 2008 and advanced to the playoff in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Since 1996, the Sooners were Big 12 champions or co-champions 14 out of a possible 28 times.
"There are underlying tones about the move we've made, for whatever reason," said Castiglione, OU's athletic director since 1998. "It pisses you off. ... We just take it as fuel
"Oklahoma isn't intimidated as a football program," said coach Brent Venables, who replaced Riley three years ago. "We're running towards the SEC."
