I think if we faced WSU again they would probably win. They took two ranked teams to the wire the past two week-ends.
I haven't watched them since, but I assume that kid they finally started at QB against us has only gotten better. I still don't understand how they have managed to somewhat slow down the offenses they have faced lately. We pretty much moved the ball at will against them.

This is just my gut talking but I feel like Fisch and his staff are really good at coaching on the macro level. They seem to do well at scheming, drawing up plays etc. It seems like they lack severely on coaching the fundamentals and getting consistent execution form their players.

Agreed, we are also very undisciplined since he has taken over. That might just be a thing now though. I coach HS kids, and they are idiots. I don't imagine they get a lot smarter in college. Had a 2nd baseman FOUR TIMES on Saturday not get to the bag when the SS was cutting. Twice cost us outs. Mind-numbing. If I was a parent I'd probable wonder what the fuck we do in practice. I can tell you this, she gets to the damn bag in practice. They are just stupid.

I have OFers throwing to first base
Base runners running into ground balls in front of them because "there was two outs I have to run"
Girls turning around to go back to the bag on bloopers with two outs, but running around third on a fly ball to the OF despite both coaches screaming back

That's at the HS Varsity level! You name it, it happens. And it's all things that are gone over in practice and literally forgotten when the game starts. I wonder how many times a game Fisch asks a kid "Why did you do that", and the answer is "I don't know". It happens to me once an inning.

I blame travel ball. Girls go to a Tournament on Saturday and go 1 and 2. In my day that meant you went home, you were done. Now? They move to the silver bracket and Facebook blows up with parents and the organization posting how they won the tournament. No they didn't, they took 7th!
