I hope not, but the little bit that I've watched they don't seem very disciplined on offense, and that seems to be reinforced by what the few guys in here that watch and comment have to say.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 22, 2025 6:13 pmIs Sprinkle another Lorenzo Romar who can recruit but can't actually coach?

Re: A split in LA!
First they foul with 38 seconds left only down 2. Then after getting lucky as fuck that the guy misses both free throws they race down the court like there is 5 seconds left instead of 38 and hoist up a contested 3 with 19 seconds left on the shot clock that barely scrapes the front of the rim. Pathetic.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 22, 2025 6:13 pmI watched the last 10 minutes of that game. Seattle played team ball, defended, and worked the ball inside for dunks while the Dawgs threw up brick after brick from long range. Shocking that it was even that close. Second year in a row they lose to SU?

Hey at least we beat the Ducks. Also beat Ohio St. Too bad the football team didn't do that.

Man, I used to just love college sports. Some of my favorite sports memories are of Husky Football. And while I understand these kids deserve to get paid? The Transfer Portal and NIL have just ruined it for me. At least pro sports regulates Free Agency. I have watched maybe three quarters of college hoops this year, and two of those were because the Huskies were on the TV at the bar I was sitting at!
I watched much more football, but NOTHING like I used to. It seems like the Final Four win over Texas was DECADES ago!

There's just no reason UW shouldn't be good at basketball. Plenty of local talent, great location, lots of wealthy alumni. Apparently the only way to get the home-grown talent to stay here is to hire a black head coach that will let them play street ball.

And lose in the Sweet 16. Remember when we thought that was the ultimate sin!? I can't remember the last Tourney win....was that with Jaylin Nowell, Thybulle and David Crisp? I remember being real excited about that next recruiting class pairing up with Nowell, and then he went Pro, the Freshman were INCREDIBLY over rated, we had no PG, and we went from beating #1 Baylor in November or December to losing to just about every Pac 12 team there was!Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Feb 13, 2026 4:12 amThere's just no reason UW shouldn't be good at basketball. I just wish they would be good again so I can stop hearing about the trash can NBA retiring 6 weeks before I die.

I've given up hope. Kind of have with football as well. I realize Fish came back, but I think now that we are in the Big Ten? Both of our programs are always going to be looked at as a stepping stone for the next big job. And once that happens? Nothing is keeping the athletes there. When is the last time a Brock Huard, Jake Locker type went to the U of W because they grew up loving the U of W? I feel the same with Brockman in basketball. The money and AAU sports have ruined it. Hell, the stud basketball athletes are basically treating HS like free agency now!
At a local level here? A student can now transfer HS's one time for no reason at all. All they have to do is miss 30% of that season. But that is if you provide no reason. Yakima has become a breeding ground. There are so many schools in a very small area. I coached this summer and some 8th grader from Selah was blasting bombs left and right. All the buzz was that she would be going to West Valley as a Freshman. I kind of laughed, I mean, from HS to HS that is a 26 minute drive. But? She sure could get that figured out, miss 30% of her Freshman year and then play the rest of her career at West Valley. I think they only said that because I coach at a rival school from West Valley, but it is plausible. Doubtful, since Selah has a pretty darn good program as well, but you get my point.
There is not even any loyalty in HS now, college is worse. It's pretty crazy that the sport that is the easiest to follow because there is less turnover is professional!

I've seen that Rainier Beach grabbed that kid Stokes from down here in SoCal and he makes opponents look like a bunch of monkeys. That they even have one loss with that team and that kid is shocking.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Feb 17, 2026 5:44 pmAt a local level here? A student can now transfer HS's one time for no reason at all.
