it's amazing to see how large a gap there is between Purdon't and Iowa. back in the Pac12 days i used to think little of the Hawkeyes likely because they never seemed able to pull the upsets i wanted over the conference frontrunners, but they clearly have a strong program identity that makes their floor very high, even if their ceiling isn't the highest due to the lack of a dynamic passing game. be nice if the Dawgs could get back to being more physical like that, as they were under the Dawgfather.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2026 4:50 amThe Dawgs turn the ball over five times and still end up whooping the Buttermakers in their house. Wow.
Totally obvious that the team responded to and played their butts off for Brown and that Williams was indeed the problem. And unlike Sam Darnold, Brown didn't let the turnovers take him out of his game.
Also, was that an honest to goodness running game we saw out there tonight?
It's just too bad that when Williams is healthy he'll be out there again. He's sunken cost and they don't HAVE to play him.

Eh I think the Iowa game was more a matter of the team attitude vs overall toughness. It's sad to say but the entire team was quitting on Demond going out there and laying an egg every drive. They're clearly more juiced and working harder with Brown in there and an offense that has a pulse. I wish it wasn't an excuse I have to make but there was clearly a different attitude and effort on defense last night.57reasons wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2026 12:49 pmit's amazing to see how large a gap there is between Purdon't and Iowa. back in the Pac12 days i used to think little of the Hawkeyes likely because they never seemed able to pull the upsets i wanted over the conference frontrunners, but they clearly have a strong program identity that makes their floor very high, even if their ceiling isn't the highest due to the lack of a dynamic passing game. be nice if the Dawgs could get back to being more physical like that, as they were under the Dawgfather.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2026 4:50 amThe Dawgs turn the ball over five times and still end up whooping the Buttermakers in their house. Game after Iowa UW allows 98 on the ground to Purdue who rushed for 305 yards against Minnesota. UW rushes for 186 yards against Purdue after they allowed just 27 yards rushing the week prior.
There's also just parity in the sport... different teams match up well vs different teams.

They would probably be 6-1 if they had just let DW out of his contract. Forcing him to stay and continue being the leader of the team was even more stupid than hiring a tight ends coach to be your OC.

Common theme in Seattle this season, the QBs getting all the money are the ones losing the games.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2026 3:55 pmThey would probably be 6-1 if they had just let DW out of his contract. Minnesoda beats up on Washington. Purdon't beats up on Minnesoda. Washington beats up on Purdon't. Gotta love that circular logic!
