@BrockHuard
If you were an NFL GM/HC where would you draft Jacob Eason?

who's the audience being polled? seems a useless Q absent more info - totally depends on the team situation.
btw Daniel Jeremiah says NFL teams are all over the map - one has him the #2 QB and plenty others have him outside 1st round.
Who's the audience, the @ symbol should give it away. :)

my blissful ignorance of social media on full display there. that said, i am keenly interested in statistics, polling, and their inherent bias. coming from a local in Brock, even though he does have a bit more of a national presence now, i'm still going to assume his audience is significantly weighted to this region, and thus, significantly weighted to Hawk fans. and since the Hawks of course are in such desperate need of a QB, i would expect them all to be biased toward drafting any QB early and often. Not.

Late second is probably a good spot for Eason. While I feel he was grossly underutilized here and poorly coached, I am also not sure that he is going to be a good starting QB in the NFL. His lack of mobility is a huge hinderance and he showed, especially later in the year, that he isn't the greatest decision maker. Add in that while he has a rocket for an arm, his touch was often times lacking? Geez, think back to all the open deep shots he over threw by five or ten yards!

Late second round could allow for him to get some coaching and practice reps and not have the weight of the world on his shoulders. Imagine someone like Tennessee or the Rams getting him? Learn the offense for a year or two and then jump in. LA could be scary, if McVey is actually the offensive mastermind he was rumored to be. But, even in Tennessee, if they can continue to play that style of offense...run first, play action, and down field throws? Get him the coaching he needs, and who knows. God knows he didn't get that coaching here. If only he had known how to run the WC! :lol:

Lots of comments, I have been a big part of it, about how Petersen's lack of fire was our issue last year. Maybe it was talent?

This Mock Draft says

3rd) Jacob Eason and Nick Harris
4th) Hunter Bryant
7th) Miles Bryant and Trey Adams

i do think the offensive talent in particular was overhyped last year - not so much Eason, but thinking more Hunter Bryant, Adams, Fuller, Ahmed. those guys were all had better seasons previously than they did last year, so was reasonable to expect more from them - i mean who would've predicted Ahmed running 4.65 at the combine? that said i think Harris is being a little undervalued, and Hilbers too - think he has a shot to make a team as a backup swing tackle.
but yeah, i still put it mostly on the coaching. 5 losses by one score each i think it was - that's brutal.

Very true. And, as you know, I pretty much hated evert OC we have had besides the guy that was paid for a season to hold Smith's hand! So, I agree mostly. But man, did we seriously over value Adams and Ahmed or what? With Adams, it has to be the injuries right? I mean, we were all thinking the injury was the only thing that brought him back and kept him from being a first round pick a year or two ago, and now he is projected to go in the 7th!?

Adams and Ahmed's stock decline are both puzzling, Ahmed probably more so. i mean how do you go from 4.32 to 4.65? and it cant all be the knee - he still broke a 90 yarder vs. SC last year, and i recall a few runs the previous season where he'd hit the extra gear running sideways to turn the corner, when by all rights the DE/LB seemed to have had the angle to prevent it. Adams tried hard but hasnt been the same since his stellar sophomore season before the injuries.
