I wondered that myself. Might be what DT said, limiting exposure? But I wondered if it was even more stupid than that, like they were afraid some teams would get mad because they had to play a top of the Conference foe they weren't supposed to? Because, it really is odd. If it is about safety, why even add in the extra Conference game? And, if you are adding one, why not just one more?

It is like everything else in the world today...very questionable and no one even tries to answer.

heard the letter read on Softy. Tone was very "militant" as he put it, very off-putting. Sounded like they were being steered/coached by an outside influence with a political or other agenda, not necessarily that of the players. Only in a year like this would they be so emboldened as there would otherwise be plenty of folks lining up to take their place. That said i am all for the Rock or whomever it is that is touting development of an alterative semi-pro league for those who would rather not bother with the pretense of education, and also support the new endorsement allowance that was being put forth before COVID hijacked the whole sports world along with every other aspect of life.

more on this from Wilner today - he thinks the absurd money demands without much notice sprinkled in with the more achievable racial equity stuff were just a poorly conceived attempt at creating bargaining chips - doesnt think too many players will actually opt out. some of course might over Covid concerns, and maybe a few even for the racial political statement, but not for the money.

not sure what all the specific terms/demands were, but Wilner and Softy were musing that the Pac-12 probably already leads the way as most progressive in the country on such issues. I'd be surprised if not.

Wow, I am a huge Husky fan and alum but you guys have me crushed on your level of knowledge of players and such. I guess I am maxed out on M's and Hawks.

i dont waste much of my time with the losing baseball franchise. and only track the Ducks since i am still a fan having grown up in Eugene, plus the fact that my best buddy used to do a little scouting for them. couldnt tell you the other league rosters. has been a pretty good battle between those two for the last 3-4 years, on field and in the living room of recruits.

Well I love baseball so I don't consider it a waste of time. I enjoy tremendously. Actually significantly more than football.

Sorry Darren, "waste" was a poor choice of words there. perhaps related to the fact that my personal batting average left me looking up to Mendoza.
