Morris played 4 games. 4 more college starts than Huard but less than a third of a season.

Just saw where the Ducks' starter last year announced Friday that he's leaving. my source says the OC wanted to start the BC transfer Brown instead, but Cristobal overruled him. but the way he finished that probably wasnt gonna continue. so if Brown doesnt win out, they could also be rolling out a frosh at the helm in Ty Thompson who was a top 100 guy.

Pretty tough to tell a kid not to play his senior year.
I wouldn't ever do that but it still makes me nervous given our backup QBs.
yeah, wasnt too thrilled to read that headline - rather he work ahead academically to be eligible to join spring practice (if they have them) - gonna need to max every opportunity if he wants to win the starting nod right away.
Well now i understand. his senior "season" consisted of all of 2 games, enough to get him the state record for career passing yards (surpassing Brett Rypien), and now is enrolling early so he can still play in the spring. Expect to see Mr. Morris follow so many others into the exit line through the portal within the next year, maybe even prior to the opener.

I don't like the idea of letting a freshman compete to be the starter. That's why so many QBs have transfered out lately. Don James didn't do that crap did he?

different era, but even Don James realized his best success after making adjustment to the modernization of the evolving game. Recall the bowl game where the O got stymied by Cornelius Bennett? that's when he made the course correction to get more speed across the board, eventually leading to the "All I saw was purple" era culminated by the Natty in 91-92.

So, if we had Trevor Lawrence coming in, you would want him to wait his turn behind Dillon Morris?

This is a pic of me and my boys chilling at Venice Beach just a few hours before that 1992 Rose Bowl. I'm on the left.

Dillon Morris might not be starting if 4-5 other guys hadn't transfered out over the past few seasons. If you have a freshman that is that special, redshirt him at least. Unless all the other 4 and 5 star QBs in the program show no signs of living up to their projections i would wait another year as well.

So, risk Trevor Lawrence type talent to play someone else to see what they have? Not gonna lie, I'm glad you aren't the one making that call.

There is ZERO reason for a kid that talented to come in and not have the ability to start. And the other guys left because they couldn't beat out Morris!
