So is the NCAA so impotent that they can't mandate that the Big 10 can't merge with the P12 unless they take all remaining teams???

I meant wtf is the difference between a 18 team conference and a 20 team conference. They can just offer OSU and WSU an amount that is more they would get in a non Power five conference which is still fraction of was OU and UW will get and they would happily agree. What am I missing???

But they want Rutgers, Maryland and Indiana??? Both WSU and OSU are significant better football schools and programs.

What makes you think they "want" them. They just can't dump them because they are already there.

Fyi correct about Indiana but it was originally called the Big 10 for a reason.

"Washington State, Oregon State take legal action to decide Pac-12’s fate"

Last I checked, there were eight Pac-12 teams ranked in the top 25. One must wonder how someone could kill off the Goose that lays golden eggs by scheduling football games at 8PM on the West Coast. I'm gonna miss the Pac-12.
Hopefully the Cougs/OSU win control of the Pac12/Pac-whatever and can restore it by bringing in others, etc.

I will go to my grave thinking the simplest easiest and most obvious solution would be to pressure the big 10 to just take you guys resulting in two 10 team divisions but of course it won't happen because it makes too much sense and it might cost somebody a little bit of money.

I hope so as well and hope the WSU and OSU can keep the Pac going. I think they have a strong case since every other school left, so why should they have voting rights in this league?

I Think the Big 10 has its Eyes on Clemson / Florida State. If they were to take OSU and WSU it would make it harder for that to happen.
