Michigan
UW
Texas
Alabama

FSU
Georgia
Is this official already? ESPN on tv says it's announcing at noon.
was hoping FSU would make it since they be so less formidable than Bama with their backup QB (or even in general).
still, not crazy to think UW has as good a chance as any at actually winning the whole Natty! wow :!:
It was announced at 12:25 pm EST I watched it live.
Really nice to see Michigan/Bama square off, would be much worse to have go thru both of them. A Sark-coached Texas team is better matchup for us, one we've already beaten handily a year ago. Imagine what a way it will be to start our new Big10 relationship if it's UW-Michigan in the final!
or alternatively a chance at redemption for 2016.

Everyone knew a tough decision would be made. Poor FSU was elevated in the AP and Coach's Polls today to #4 and #3. I can see how they feel injustice occurred since they completed each huddle and remained undefeated.

Texas took out Bama in the regular season, Bama took out the #1 team in the nation in the Conf. Champ game, and FSU's SOS comes into question.
yeah, havent heard it too much from the talking heads but it's really an indictment of the ACC and how poor that is in relation to the other power 5 conferences. Despite the recent season strength of Clemson, i've always thought they were the worst of the bunch by a mile (for football, not hoops of course). Also settles the question of Best vs. Most Deserving. Clearly FSU should have been in if the latter had won out.
What i don't get is how is Georgia not ranked ahead of Texas?
Conference Championship and who beat who. Georgia lost to Bama, Bama lost to Texas.

Texas beat Bama, Bama beat Georgia. How could they justify Georgia over Texas!?

The only thing that upsets me is why we have to play in the Sugar? Texas is the lower seed, but gets to play at the FAR closer location?

I suppose if I'm FSU and want to deepen my argument, I would include the fact that Bama already lost to Texas. So basically, is it more important to the Committee to give out second chance opportunities over snubbing an underfeated Power 5 in the weakest Power 5 conference. Kind of undermines the purpose of recognizing Power 5 conferences.

But I think we all know the Committee made a speculative decision based on potential game quality. It's all about ratings afterall, right?

I was talking about the AP rankings more than the CFP. Alabama was a better team later in the season. And isn't losing to the #12 team (Oklahoma) by 4 worse than losing to the #5 team by 3? Georgia appeared to have a tougher schedule than Texas as well.

Was listening to the Pac-12 60 minute roundup of the Championship game. After the Dawgs won, one of the announcers said "the Huskies have been underdogs all season long." Huh? This is why the Pac-12 network was such a joke and one of the reasons the conference folded!
