But Hop keeps putting him out their for 30+ minutes a game. How can he be one of our top 5 players????
It should be Bey starting over him... RaeQuan battle should be getting some run too.

How about anyone who can rebound?

Where I grew up, you took a team getting offensive rebounds personally and u put them on their asses to make it stop.
Where I grew up (North America) if a guy was 6' 9" and couldn't shoot outside shots, he posted up on offensive and played D and crashed boards on the other end. Hammerhead must have missed the memo. And how does a 5 star like Jayden have such a mentally vacant showing. Offensive foul, air ball, travelling and dropped rebound. If he is just a net zero in the second half we win easily.
The one thing about Jayden that most forget is he was a very late transition to a 5-star. He was a 4-star until the end of his Jr. year and he was elevated because of his potential, not necessarily his current skill. I watched a lot of his tape online and I could see that there was a little bit of lapse in coordination when it came his ball handling and control of his body. He clearly hasn't established 100% feel for his body yet and that's why you keep seeing him lose a lot loose balls, dribble it off his feet... Durant was a little bit like this his first year in the NBA. Sadly, Jayden is quite a bit further back than KD was at the college level and that's not a good sign for his NBA chances.

He can shoot, yes... but his ball handling and lack of coordination are a liability whenever someone who has any idea how to defend is around. The great basketball players can always feel where the ball is around their body... you can see Jayden is trying, but he's not there yet. He's just gotta play more basketball and work hard on getting the feel down.

As for Hamier... he's a lost cause. The first 2 years at UW didn't do much for his confidence on the offensive side of the court. It seems like someone handicapped him, told him he's not allowed to some things on offense, because he's clearly afraid to do anything.

^ this is Hamier as a 15 year old... you tell me, in any of your time watching him play hoops at UW have you ever seen him do any of this shit? His jump shot was wayyyyy smoother than it is now.

The game has recessed...all over. That is what happens when you rely on 18 and 19 year olds that really don't want to be there anyway.

There was an interesting article in the Times the other day, I can't remember who wrote it, and I can't find it on their website, but it talked about the poor shooting, turnovers, etc that were leading to straight up terrible basketball. Sounded like just about every minute I have watched this year. The Huskies are no different than anyone else. It broke down how many underclassment went pro last year, and that most of them are playing developmental ball or worse right now. The college game is dieing.

I think the college game is dying because the AAU/High School game is dying.

Every team that wins runs a full-court press 100% of the time and relies on athleticism to force turnovers and get transition buckets against literal infant-level teams.

They have so little faith in their players' ability to play basketball in the half-court set that it's a total whirlwind when these kids get to the college level.

Propper dribbling, passing, shooting mechanics have all been replaced by: "well can he dunk at the age of 14? yes? great."

Want an example? Here's the no. 1 team in Arizona last year Shadow Mountain. They press 100% of the time... They were winning this game something like 50-0. Almost all their buckets in transition. You tell me, who is this helping?
