Re: 2023 Week 9: UW Football - S-furd
On each side of the ball, this team just looks a little our of whack. Like something is just a tiny bit out of alignment. I believed that this team is nursing the pounding we got at the hand of Oregon. I always like a W in our games with Oregon, I think a loss and a more healthy team may have been a better outcome; then take care of Oregon in the Championship game.....and a birth to the playoffs.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the coaches office when they are discussing injuries.
And what the fuck, is Asa Turner the most delicate player of all time? He is injured every time he plays;
Plays 1 game, then takes 3 games off to heal. What a little pussy.

I hate to say this but the word "soft" comes to mind watching the last two games. Obviously we need to get healthy and we can clean up "whatever" but mostly we need to be a lot tougher and aggressive.

Agreed.
We need to win on the line of scrimmage, which we haven't the last two weeks. We should feel very fortunate that we have faced the cellar dwellers of the Pac the last two weeks while we have played shitty.
It shows just how good this team really is:
Against ASU, 4 turn overs and a "questionable" quarterback and still win.
Against Furd, 2 turnovers and a "questionable" defense and still win.
We better get it figured out this week in practice.
With two poor defense's this next game, what's the over/under?

And Arizona beats Oregon State. Arizona is 5 and 3 and ahead of both WSU and Colorado. Wasn’t that long ago Colorado and WSU were undefeated and climbing the polls.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 3:50 amASU with a double digit win against the Cuogs. Maybe we are just catching these teams at the wrong time.

I don’t see Texas and Oregon leap frogging us and #9 didn’t play. Seriously, the consternation around here when we win is hilarious. Even if Oklahoma had won, I doubt they would have jumped us. And if they did? So what. Start caring once the committee starts ranking teams. Then we will see what the impression of this team and their Conference is to those that matter.D-train wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 11:37 amWell USC almost lost to Cal who we beat easily and OSU lost to AZ who we beat fairly easily but that was back when we were playing like a top 5 team. Strange season. Our Offense was wretched last week and our D was heinous last night. Maybe we can play a complete game in LA next weekend.

Yep, you are right. Also, as long as the Dawgs stay undefeated there is nothing to complain about at all. If I could have edited my post I would have left out the word "mediocre". They have anything but a mediocre offense. Even in one of their worst games Penix threw for nearly 400 yards with 4 TD's. They are pretty much one dimensional though.Michael K. wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 3:55 pmI don’t see Texas and Oregon leap frogging us and #9 didn’t play. I think some of that is a function of the offense. This style make running the football easy. The O Line rarely fires out and the RBs never get a head start.
That said, it can look ugly when the pass game struggles.

We hold steady at 5 Oregon is at 6. The first CFP rankingcome out Tuesday. That's the only one that matters.

If we go undefeated we will make it. If we lose one and win the P12 championship we will probably still make it but if we don't then we shouldn't have lost one. Control our destiny.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 11:17 pmWe hold steady at 5 Oregon is at 6. The first CFP rankingcome out Tuesday. That's the only one that matters.

Many pundits are predicting that Whoregon and the Huskies meet in the Pac-12 Championship game...with Whoregon winning.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 11:17 pmWe hold steady at 5 Oregon is at 6. The first CFP rankingcome out Tuesday. That's the only one that matters.
