Dawgs bring home the soccer National Championship

Not a soccer fan except for when it's my Dawgs or Team USA...

But... our Dawgs won the NT as an unseeded team. They played 6 consecutive road games (2 neutral but not really, the NT was in North Carolina ) against 5 seeded teams in the tournament to win the title.

They were up 2-0 until a total ref show took over and NC State was diving all over the place (why I can't stand soccer) and NC State scored 2 goals, 1 with 3 mins to go to tie it at 2-2.

In the overtime period a nice juke driving the ball to goal led to a cross and goal for the win. Was very fun to watch.

I heard on KJR yesterday that offsides should have been called on the winning goal in OT but by the time they had reviewed it UW was so far into their celebration it would have created a scandal to negate the goal. Gotta love sock'er lol.

I think the offsides call was iffy. There's something about the position the player is in needing to impact the play for it to be offsides. He apparently got back onsides and there wasn't much of anything the one foot he was offsides did. Totally a judgement call... it also happened WELL away from the goal and like 10 seconds prior.
