Tennessee game

I don't have ESPN and was just following the game on my phone for the most part. Some comments from the Seattle Times article about the game seemed to suggest a lack of discipline and cohesion by the UW players. Didn't we see enough of that during the later years with Romar? Why is it that other programs can get up to speed with lots of underclassman but at UW it is just an insurmountable obstacle to get something remotely resembling a team effort out of them? I had hoped that the poor showing against MSM was that they were looking ahead to the game against the Vols, but the effort yesterday seemed to contradict that notion. Is Tennessee just better than they were given credit for? I'm starting to wonder if Hopkins might not be enough of a disciplinarian and general "hard-ass" with his players. As much as I dislike Calipari for his arrogance and questionable recruiting practices, he doesn't take any shit from his players and cuts them down if they start thinking they are bigger than the team. At UW, i'm starting to wonder if the inmates run the asylum.

Its dissapointing but Waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy to early to assume that given the incredible turnaround of the program that he has orchestrated.

Perhaps, but didn't Romar get credit for an incredible turnaround when he took over as well? I'm starting to think nothing has really changed.

yes, true, but LoRo's turnaround took longer to get going. and we all know how it ended, but that was after a good 10+ year run. agreed with DT - too soon to box Hop in Romarville.

I think thyey actually thought they had a good showing against MtStMary and hence no sense of urgency going into the game vs Tennessee. Or at least not enough of a jolt to their pride to take them off their high from beating Baylor.

The team is still finding itself as far as chemistry goes and they are soooo young. They will get it together. I just hope its in time to be respectable against the Zags.

Are they really that much younger than most of the top prgrams out there?

No, but did you see #1 get bounced the same night we tried to mount St Mary?
