Some good news

Jacob Sirmon to remain a Dawg: https://twitter.com/mikevorel/status/11 ... 9330928642

That's a relief, I'm not really comfortable with Haener as our potential backup. Unless we're playing North Dakota again  ;)

You still have to wonder just what the heck was going on there with him and Yankoff putting their names in the transfer portal together. I can imagine that something happened at practice, or something was said, which caused them both to think that their chances of seeing the field of play in 2020 were not good.

I don't know, but perhaps Coach Pete did talk to them. It obviously worked for Sirmon but as of right now, Yankoff is still in the transfer portal. Which by the way, I have never heard of that before. Sounds like something you hear in a video game

its new in the last couple years.
good news on Sirmon, bad news on Smalls. good thing we got a couple pass-rushing OLBs in this class.

I think it was a simple reason they both felt crowded, both thought there were too many QB's. both most likely came to a decision independently (with help from family and friends) to leave.
With Yankoff leaving Sirmon just thought his chances greatly improved over the next couple of years so he decided to stay.
Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!

I can see Smalls wanting to see another part of the country but Pullman? LOL btw he should get advice about the Grass is Greener mentality from Jake Heaps and Max Browne.

Or Jacob Eason? I mean, seriously, potentially the best defensive player in the Country is being recruited by WSU as a WR...and that keeps them in the hunt? Tells me something about this kid. Doesn't sound like an OKG to me. Too bad, because I guess he is just a freak of an LB, which we need....but so be it.

I think there is a better chance the Mariners win 9 gold gloves than Smalls goes to WSU.

Agreed, which made it even more annoying that he included them on his list and not the U of W.
