https://www.cbssports.com/college-footb ... ead-coach/The "pirate" is headed to Starkvegas. Mississippi State has hired Mike Leach to be the next head coach of the Bulldogs. Leach will replace former coach Joe Moorhead, who was fired after just two seasons with the program.
Mississippi State made the announcement via Twitter with an epic video:
"I can't tell you how excited I am to be the head football coach of the Mississippi State Bulldogs," Leach said. "I loved Washington State, but I am excited for the next chapter in the SEC. It's a privilege to be a part of the MSU family, and we look forward to getting down to Starkville shortly."
Leach comes to Starkville with a proven track record of success at smaller-profile Power Five programs. He posted a 55-47 record as the head coach at Washington State from 2012-19. That included an 11-2 season in 2018 and nine-win seasons in 2015 and 2017. He led the Cougars to five straight bowl games, including an Alamo Bowl win over Iowa State in 2018 that earned the Cougars a No. 10 ranking in the final AP Top 25 poll.

Washington State Cougars have lost Mike Leach to Mississippi State.
Rocky Colavito is a Hall of Famer in my book!

I can't believe how many Cougs are happy about this. They will never go to 5 Bowl games again.

I don't know many that are happy. They hate losing Apple Cups, but I am not sure that changes a ton with the new guy...but most understand it'll be hard to replicate this success! Wasn't there three years in a row where a Cougar win in the AC would have meant a North Championship? Say what you will about Leach, but that is impressive.

Yep, I think it is basically liberals on Twitter that hate that he is friends with Trump and tells it like it is regarding his players.

I'm sad to see him go - he was entertaining to say the least. I hated the fact that he refused to change strategies halfway through a game when it was obvious the other team figured him out, but still as MK said - his results were impressive.
