McDaniels was one of the most productive Huskies whose effectiveness was sometimes undermined by bouts of erratic play.

The former Federal Way High star, who was ranked No. 7 nationally by Rivals and ESPN among the 2019 recruits, averaged 13.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.4 blocks and 31.1 minutes.

However, he finished second in the Pac-12 with 100 turnovers (2.2 per game) and first in the league in personal fouls (103), technical fouls (six) and disqualifications (eight).

Those are three consecutive sentences. It SOMETIMES was undermined by erratic play? They list his stats as if those are impressive...which they are pretty average for a guy ranked 7th in the Nation, then point out all the SHIT that he lead the Conference in...and it SOMETIMES undermined his play? How about, his erratic play and immaturity COMPLETELY undermined the Huskies season!?

And yet despite oversized expectations, the Huskies had a nine-game losing streak that tied for the second longest in school history and finished last in the Pac-12 at 5-13 and 15-17 overall.

Oversized expectations? Not really, they were barely in the Top 25 in the preseason, and despite beating Baylor, quickly fell out....and never sniffed it again. The only thing oversized was their egos. This season was a complete joke. And McDaniels was the punch line. It is at this time I would like to thank Larry Scott for being a bafoon, since his shitty network is only viewed by about 40% of the homes in his own damn territory, I am one of MANY who didn't have to witness this season.

Stewart and McDaniels join a long list of UW players who have left school early and were chosen in the draft including: Markelle Fultz (2017), Dejounte Murray and Marquese Chriss (2016), Terrance Ross and Tony Wroten Jr. (2012), Isaiah Thomas (2011), Spencer Hawes (2007) and Nate Robinson (2005).

And, IMO, he will join the majority of the above in obscurity. But, he will be filthy rich. How watered down must the talent pool be if McDaniels is projected in the Top 15?

Funny, I just posted an article about the G League, and what I feel will be a major impact on this one and done bullshit. Now that the G League is here, IMO, it should be three years at college...just like in football. Redshirt Soph or True Juniors can declare, otherwise? If you didn't go straight to the G League, you are in playing in college.

I understand that the NFL is different, specifically the physical toll. That article was fasinating. But, what I would really like to see is the success of the One and Donners in the NBA. It absolutely blows me away how many of these kids have mediocre to bad NBA careers, but it doesn't effect them....they made MILLIONS. How can the NBA not see the negative impact? I mean, just look at the last two Husky PGs to come out early! They are fine, their family is fine, set for life. What did the teams that drafted them get out of it besides paying a shit ton of money for nothing?

This isn't rare. Seriously. When you watch the NBA now, which I will admit I didn't do very often, how many times are you hearing about the one and done guy ripping it up? Besides Zion, name one you even saw on Sportscenter? You can't. Once again, they are fine, RICH beyond belief. But, how can the NBA possible say it has helped them? By the time the kid is any good it is time for his next contract!

Its bizarre that they keep picking these guys. I wish I could bet on them being busts. Expecially McDaniel. Bizarre how they keep doing over and over. NBA version of the Hawks FO

I'll be honest, McDaniel being a bust is almost a given, but I wouldn't bet against Stewert being a bust either. During their 9 game losing streak, we were at a Sports Bar downtown and the game was on. Actually it was the Bob's Classic that you went to on the wrong side of the river when we met for a beer! Anyway, they showed a graphic, and it was Stewert's stats during the recent run, and at that time I think it was a 14 game run were they were something like 2 and 12. I promise you I am not exact on that, but you get the picture.

His stats were EXTREMELY pedestrian....against Pac 12 competition. I mentioned that in here and everyone excused it because he is getting keyed on and can't do it on his own. Well, he is supposed to be one of the ten best players in all of college basketball, and he can't dominate a weak Pac 12? He was a HUGE reason we struggled last year. Not because he was bad, but because he was supposed to be great and he was mediocre.

I think it is highly likely that once the losing started, guys like him and McDaniel stopped caring. What does it matter to them anyway? Finish out the string and they are gone right?
