Bout time Lake finally reeled one in - maybe a bit of a victim of his own success, where the current crew is so deep that the elite prepsters dont see a quick enough path to starting. Ironic too reading that Smith might have been undervalued in part because of past (and now future) teammate McDuffie starting ahead of him - didnt get enough PT to showcase.

Yeah, I'm starting to get really dumbfounded by the lack of defensive recruits but more importantly the lack of interest from elite DB prospects at this time of the year. It doesn't make any sense given our pedigree, given coach Lake's pedigree and reputation. What's the deal here? I thought Kelee Ringo was a lock and now he's looking at Texas and Georgia? How come these elite guys aren't looking at UW and how come we just now get a DB commit in late July and it's a 3star kid w/o much playing time?

Maybe there are rumblings that Lake won't be around at UW much longer. Can't think of any other reason.
