Washington randomly beats 11-2 Maryland after losing to Seattle U.

Maryland was 11-2... their only 2x losses to top-15 teams in the country.
Maryland beat Ohio St. earlier this season and held a 50-17 lead at half time. Ohio St. beat no. 4 Kentucky last week
Hilarious man.

Tough league this year. Probably going to send 10 teams to the tournament.
Win tomorrow and the Dawgs slide into 15th out of 18.
Dawgs probably a little closer to .500 in league play if Kepnang could have played the first half of the B10 schedule. They just got dominated inside.

Last place now. That's right, the basketball powerhouses Nebraska, State Penn, Rutgers and Northfreakin'western are better than us.

It's pretty tough to excuse.
The team isn't void of talent.
I questioned the coaching early on and while the team has gotten better... they still do a lot of the same bad stuff.
I mean you get one of the top transfers in the country on your team and you can't figure out how to get the ball to him deep on the block. It's pretty insane.
They've blown like 5 or 6 first half leads in the last 10 games.

What is it about this school that allows recruiting to succeed but causes coaching to go to die? Ever since Marv Harsh it seems regardless of the talent level, the team consistently underperforms. Other than one of the early years under LoRo where he brought them back to respectability, and maybe one or two of his loaded teams that made it deep and just met but didnt exceed expectations, they've been the poster child for the whole being LESS than the sum of its parts.

Hopkins and Sprinkle may just not be very good coaches.
Utah St. is 24-6 and virtual lock for the tournament.

It's a tough sport to coach these days. It takes having a system and being able to coach it. But the opportunity to do it has really shrunk with having kids for one or two seasons. The big schools can churn out teams built with short-term talent where other schools find success with lesser talent that sticks around longer in more complex systems. I don't follow basketball anymore but I got the impression the huskies were stuck somewhere in the middle. Lorenzo Romar for instance is considered a good coach and he could recruit. But his system was complicated, it didn't lend itself to the short term game these days.
