I have no problem with their name. It will be of interest throughout the league. But I just can't stop thinking of Leonard being grabbed by a kraken on "The Big Bang Theory".

I think a beaver would chomp on a duck... but both would be beaten up by a husky.

Oh yeah, Utah and it's long proud jazz history LOL. The story there was that when they moved to SLC they didn't have enough time to change the name so they played as the Jazz their first year and then because the NBA was poor at the time, having no significant TV contract, they kept the name because they would have had to eat the merchandise they still had on hand even though other than Adrian Dantley jerseys it probably wasn't worth squat.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 10:21 pmDid you forget about the Utah Jazz? Or the Provo Krak whores?DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 8:59 pmStone forgot to mention that the player groupies will be known as "Krak Whores".
And again, where "local ties" are concerned, 67 percent of the NFL/MLB/NBA/NHL franchises don't have "local tie" names. Sometimes you just want to name your team after something that kills the living hell out of other things.

That's how the phrase "on paper" was derived........Double Mocha Man wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 10:35 pm... though a husky, by all rights, would lose to a cougar.

And thus John Stockton and Dizzy Gillespie have something in common.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 10:42 pmOh yeah, Utah and it's long proud jazz history LOL. I agree. I'm definitely warming up to the Kraken namesake even though I was against it.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2020 5:43 pmHere are the team colors and logo: https://t.co/y7oDkYk50j?amp=1
They totally nailed it, the whole thing. The color scheme, the primary logo, the secondary logo, the lettering. I'm going to enjoy wearing that sweater a lot more than I do my Anaheim Ducks sweater.
I have to say, it's WAY better than the logo, color scheme, and name of a certain basketball team's in the middle of the Dust Bowl in every way, shape, and form
